13062744_1415668935125914_2056593522_oFor the final blog post I went to the Baruch Voices event. This was for my academic post since I had to still do it. While there I listened to a few speeches. They all were quite good, which is probably why they were speaking there. To be honest though the room was really difficult to find. Like, its way off to the side. I would figure it would be held in maybe a classroom or something, since it’s club hour it really wouldn’t matter. Maybe that’s for the future. But seriously, why that room? Anyway while I was there I got to listen to listen to the good speeches and managed to drag my friend along with me. Since this marks the end of freshman seminar, its kind of a bitter sweet end. It will be nice to see the school and not look through it in the mindset of , which events do I still need?

Blog #2 Career

For my second blog I went to get my resume fixed at the Starr career development, I went on this past Thursday. First thing I learned was for one, my resume was kind of shit, like, awful. Before you went though you had to have gone through a worksheet to attempt to fix your resume a little before entering. Once you are there someone goes to look it over and point you in the right direction.  There they looked over my resume and gave me points on how to fix it, such as adding power words that make your resume sound more professional such as administrated and organized. They also helped clean up my resume by reducing the amount of words I had and limited the writing to single statements. If there is one thing I recommend is make an appointment, if you do not walk ins have to wait until 5 until they start to look at yours, and that’s only after everyone else has finished.

For the first post I attended a club event, the club that I had gone to was the E sports club. There they were hosting a LAN event in which we played video games to see basically who was the best. It was pretty fun to play especially since I was able to find people who had a common interest as me. I was able to talk about all the different video games we each had played and how we each had a different approach to playing them. While I was there I was able to see what the club was like and considered joining it. I decided that once I had time I would join it, especially since the hours of going are lenient. However at the time I found out I was to busy to join. Since it was also at the computer lab I finally got around to resetting my password.
