I’ve read all of the posts and they were all amazing. Each one of them was unique in its own way, some were emotionally charged and others were informative.
I’ve been avoiding Jorge’s post, “Different Stages of Grief”, since he talks about a sensitive subject: losing someone dear. For this one, I really had to step out of my comfort zone and I surely do not regret it. He portrays the different feelings you go through when grieving. After reading his post, I’ve become more knowledgeable and I feel like the more I understand it, the less scarier it becomes. So thank you Jorge for helping me face my fears!
I’ve seen a lot of cool trailers, but the one that stuck to me was the one that Ikra made. Her trailer looks professionally made. I have to applaud her for that. She narrates the story of a young Columbian, living in the slums, who’ll join a cartel. But what stood out for me is the genre of the movie. Instead of choosing to make it into an action movie she decided to make it into a horror movie, I think that is unique since I can’t think of any horror movies about cartels. Also, the music and the dark atmosphere in the trailer created a feeling of danger.
“Astral Realization” by Kenny could definitely become a major hit among teenagers if it gets turned into a movie. I got so heated up when I found out that the main character’s boyfriend was secretly cheating on her with her best friend. When she caught them kissing, she thought of a million ways to call herself ugly. Her reaction to the situation kind of pissed me off at first, but at the same time I felt bad for her. The plot is very entertaining.
Last but not least, Yaseen’s trailer was pure gold. He did a great job playing with his expressions and body language to make us feel his pain and sadness. Also, there were no sounds in his trailer, just silence. That really helps to draw our attention on his emotions and not get distracted but something else. Finally, I liked the fact that he discusses toxic masculinity, how men have to be strong no matter what.
