2019 Alumni Meet

Last month, IB Alumni from class of 2019 came together to celebrate their 5th Anniversary of having graduated from International Business at Baruch. The event was a close-knit gathering at The Globe Bar, and allowed the alumni to reconnect with their fellow cohort-mates. In attendance were graduates from the class of 2019, including those who completed their capstone projects that year, along with team members from the Weissman Center for International Business and the Alumni Office.

During the event, we had the opportunity to speak with some of the alumni, including Ana Karen, a Private Client Banker at JPMorgan Chase & Co. Ana is currently spearheading a project aimed at introducing Mexican Mole to the United States market. During the recent event hosted by the Weissman Center, Ana expressed her appreciation for the networking opportunity it provided. She highlighted the invaluable feedback received from a former classmate from her capstone project, who also connected her with additional resources. Ana is enthusiastic about attending more such meetings in the future. 

We would also like to thank Jelica Rupar for her efforts in initiating this event. Jelica Rupar currently works at Columbia University as the Administrative and Events Coordinator at the Columbia University Irving Medical Center. Upon speaking with her, she mentioned that she was inspired by her time at Columbia and by the Ivy League culture of Alumni gatherings to maintain the connections and build a community. As such, she was hoping to start a similar culture at Baruch where alumni keep in contact through such events. During the event, she was looking forward to meeting her old batchmates as well as the staff. Her efforts are greatly appreciated by the Weissman Center for International Business as well as her fellow cohort/grad-mates.
