Maker Space was a huge success. Every one of my classmates, as well as myself, found ourselves engaged in at least one activity. I decided to sit at the origami table because I used to love making origami when I was younger, which is why I chose it. I thought it would come back to me like nothing. Boy, was I wrong. I stood at the table for at least an hour trying to make this dinosaur (on the right). You might be able to see the abundance of wrinkles on the dinosaur from all of the folding (It’s not because dinosaurs are really old! . After a very long time of trying to understand the folds and instructions I succeeded! I liked the challenge that origami had me face. I learned not to give up!
My next adventure was to attack the popsicle sticks. This I had not done since I was about five years old. I could not resist building something. This was quick and easy, as I just layered and glued each piece until this beautiful flower masterpiece (left) was complete. I had to be patient in making it because of the glue taking a while to dry. I kept trying to hold it up before the glue dried which was not good because it would start to fall apart. I learned from this to be patient with my craft!
I had a lot of fun taking pictures of everyone’s work and seeing the creativity all around me. I enjoyed watching my classmates playing tetris and making music with the clay and food connections. If given more time this would have been the next stop for me. It was too cool.
Creativity inspires creativity and I definitely felt inspired.
This was one of my favorite 3D Printing classes to date.
