In Japan, a company has created something that seems to work more flawlessly than google glass- which hasn’t even come out yet. Normally Microsoft and Google are constantly trying to one up each other, normally have a new release for similar products only months apart. This time, a company called Docomo has beaten both at their own game. The Japanese company has created something very similar to google glass. Google Glass is a new product that places a computer into a pair of glasses. (Pretty weird looking glasses that I’m not sure the normal consumer would ever want to wear.) This has been talked about by geeks and internet lovers all over for about 2 years now. This company in Japan, however, has amped up the game. They have added the ability for automatic translations by wearing their own glasses, allowing an easier time for tourists or people learning a new language. Not to mention what this product will do to the future of technology. Perhaps there will be no need to learn a new language if everything can instantly be translated into whatever you want. Maybe this glasses will become the norm, being placed into normal, everyday frames. Google seems up to the fight of getting their piece of the technology product pie. Now that their main product has, in a way, been copied and perhaps even advanced from their model, what will the company do to keep up with the demand of brand new technology that seems taken right out of Star Trek? The company in Japan is expected to begin selling the product by the Olympics. They look forward to getting their products over State side more. Asia tends to have many more fancy advances used in every day life that America does not. It will be interesting to see the reaction of the Western culture to this product, and the reaction of Google to these new smart glasses. What will Google do to up this? We’ll just have to wait and see.
