I am in charge of writing about social media’s affect on peoples perception of physical health for my group. There are many different factors that go into physical health on social media. One of the things that I plan to research is one’s ability to become more motivated to stay physically active and healthy using social media. For example, you may be more likely to be in better physical health if you follow a work out page on instagram. Also I would like to look at how people that incorperate social media into their workout routine do versus people who don’t. If I follow an a social media page that teaches me how to do better workouts, am I more likely to get results faster? Some people use social media to adjust their diet. Does utilizing other peoples opinions online effect your dieting? Some portions of my research might also align with mental health. For example, some people that see nice body figures online might start feeling self conscious about their own bodies. Others use it as motivation. Maybe it has to do with the individual. Some people like to post the progression of their physical health. It helps some people stay motivated. Another thing to look into is how social media can make people more lazy. I have fallen victim of sitting on my phone for a couple of hours and ended up missing a gym workout. I have also ended up using my phone while I was at the gym and that slows down my workout. Another thing that social media usage can effect is your eyesight and sleep. You are more likely to have worse vision if you use your phone too much. Your sleep habit can be worse if you use your phone right before you go to sleep. there are many aspects of physical health that social media affects.

Hi Jonathan, I like your ideas of what you are planning to research and how you relate this research to yourself and give examples of how it relates to you. I agree with all the claims you make as I follow workout pages on Instagram and that motivates to go to the gym and workout.
Hey Jonathan I like where you’re going with this. I agree that many people fail to access their physical health because too much time is spent on social media. It would help bringing up benefits.
I completely understand the point of how social media affects physical health. We always see people at the gym more focused on scrolling through instagram and posting on snapchat rather than working out
