Plot for Jonathan’s part.
Jessica is a teenage girl from Nashville, Tennessee who is insecure about her weight. She was
an dean’s scholar student with a bright future ahead of her. Her family loves her and she has a small group of friends who have the same aspirations as her. However, people in school used to make fun of her, she was always picked last in gym class and her doctor recommended that she lose weight to maintain a healthy lifestyle. During the summer, Jessica had free time during her day because of the lack of school work. With her optimism and determination, she utilized her time and decided to start living a more active lifestyle to help achieve her physical goals. In addition to that, Jessica started a diet to help her lose weight. She made a membership to planet fitness gym, and cut her meals per day from three to one. For one month straight, she would go everyday for 2 hours. She would do heavy weight squats, lunges, leg presses, bicep curls, tricep extensions, and more. Sometimes she would eat cheat meals but nothing too excessive. After a month of going to the gym she would stepped on the scale and saw that she only lost 5 pounds when she expected 20. Out of complete shock she did not know how to react. After much contemplation and her hard working personality, she concluded that she had to eat even less and go to the gym for three hours everyday instead of two. She soon started having bad headaches everyday. She also felt a dip in her daily energy levels. This made it harder for her to go to the gym everyday and stay motivated. She would also be very dizzy everyday and felt sudden shifts in her mood. The movie scene starts when George approached Jessica in the gym after he saw that she was not doing her squats properly. He wanted to teach her about the proper form. Soon they had a long conversation and George asked about her fitness goals and her plan to achieve them. After Jessica layed out her workout and diet plan George who is in expert in health and wellness pointed out some faults in her plan. He then told her that there was way too much to explain and he did not have time since he had to start his workout. He recommended that she join the fitness forum that his friend created where users were able to interact about all fitness related topics and receive advice from experts like George’s friend and more. Soon she really received a lot of advice about her faulty fitness advice. For starters, the exercises that Jessica was doing were meant for muscle building and not fat burning. She learned from a popular role model on the forum that the best way to burn fat was to do cardio intensive workouts instead of muscle building exercises. She also learned why she was having such head pains and energy loss. Her diet was mean to limit the intake of calories instead of keeping the same amount of calories in her diet (to have more energy) instead of substituting some of the unhealthy food that she was eating that had no nutritious value and had many fats and carbs. Soon she started eating three meals again but had 3 healthy meals. This limited her calorie intake but maximized her nutrition value. She now had more energy and motivation to attend the gym everyday and felt more healthy. She also saw posts on the forum of very tasty and healthy foods that were quick to make. She had less desire to eat cheat meals because a lot of these foods that she was making tasted so good. She now only went to the gym one hour a day. She made many friends on the forum who motivated her and gave her even more tips and tricks. She even made friends with David, a boy who happened to live in her area and attended the same gym as her. They started going together and helping each other stay motivated. David becomes Jessica’s husband in the future LOL. After a month of Jessica’s new workout plan, she stepped on the scale and lost 30 pounds. 10 more than her monthly goal. Jessica did that in less time while consuming more food and making more friends. Jessica became a popular fitness advisor on the forum. Jessica lost weight but gained followers.
