Hi my name is Naotaka Washimi and I’m from Japan. I’ve been in this country for 5 years now and I’m international student at Baruch. Before entering baruch college, I was majoring accounting at Laguardia Community College and obtain associate degree. Now I switched my major to International Business and minor in Business writing. As of now, I’ve obtain more than 90 credit and expected to graduated spring 2014. I’ve taken JRN3050 in previous semester and learned basic journalism sills.
The reason I choose business writing as minor which is extremely tough for foreign student like me is that having a English skills in writing would definitely be a lifelong skill for me and help me to boost my career in multi-national company in Japan. Through this academic classes in Journalism, I’d really like to obtain strong English skills in reading and writing which is the one of the most crucial skills in many international companies in today’s world because English is spoken and used in many countries as a communication tools no matter English is recognized as official language.
