Handwriting Analysis

For this assignment I pulled “the dashing”, which has an air of class and is reminiscent of an earlier era, for this reason I chose garamond, for its creation in the 16th century. Garamond has a certain elegance to it, with slightly concave serifs and exaggerated letters such as the extra long K. The typeface itself was a bit more difficult to draw freehanded, due to the varying lengths and serifs, I had more trouble with the K’s than any other letter. I do feel confident in my choice of garamond, and resulting piece. This exercise helped me to notice the small details within garamond that set this specific typeface out from the rest/
