Making the Case for Eating Fruit

 

This article discusses the case of fruit consumption. Dr. Ludwig of the New Balance Foundation Obesity Prevention Center at Boston Children’s Hospital claims that fruits make an individual feel fuller and are digested at a slower rate due to its fructose content. Regarding the types of fruits recommended to consume, Dr. Katz of the Yale University Prevention Research Center an individual should “eat the rainbow” meaning that many different types of fruits should be consumed given their different properties in antioxidants and nutrients. Further, it is claimed that fruits shouldn’t be juiced as they might lose fiber content.
