July 2022 Math Refresher Workshop

Dear Students,

Please use this link to register for a two-part “Math Refresher” workshop series. The workshop is open to all Marxe students, but should be of special interest to incoming students.

The workshop is brought to you by the Quantitative Student Support Department, which offers graduate tutoring services, creates helpful review workshops, and generally provides math/quant-based support for students in the Marxe School.

In this two-part series, we will review some key mathematical concepts that will aid you in your studies and beyond. Topics include: decimals, fractions, percentages, scientific notation, probability, and an introduction to statistics.

All sessions will be held on Zoom:

• Tuesdays / Thursdays : 6 PM – 8 PM
• Saturdays / Sundays: 10 AM – 12 PM (noon)

• Zoom Room —- https://baruch.zoom.us/j/85821940521
• Zoom Meeting ID —- 858 2194 0521
• Zoom Passcode —- 418804

Full Calendar View

(Note: students should select only one Part I session and one Part II session)

• Part I (Tuesdays) : July 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th from 6 PM – 8 PM
• Part I : Saturday, July 9th from 10 AM – 12 PM (noon)
• Part I : Sunday, July 17th from 10 AM – 12 PM (noon)

• Part II (Thursdays) : July 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th from 6 PM – 8 PM
• Part II : Saturday, July 23rd from 10 AM – 12 PM (noon)
• Part II : Sunday, July 31st from 10 AM – 12 PM (noon)

A breakdown of the workshop:

• There are two parts, Part I and Part II, which occur on two separate days. Students should register for both parts. To reiterate, students should select only one Part I session and one Part II session; hence, a total of only two days.
• In-depth review notes, Powerpoint slides, videos and more provided to students at the Quant Support Blog:

Goals and Expectations:

• Students should not expect to remember/learn/absorb all the material just by attending these two workshop sessions.
• Instead, they should view these workshops as simply a quick guide to point them in the right direction. The workshop may reveal topics that will take time to study independently.
• Furthermore, many resources will be available to help students throughout the semester. For more information, please visit Marxe’s Students Resources page:
