Irene,
I thoroughly enjoyed reading your memo. I too wrote about todays problem of childhood obesity. You made a very strong argument in my opinion that I didn’t think of when I wrote my memo. You mentioned that the food and beverage industry spends more than 1.6 billion dollars per year in children and teen targeted marketing of their products and that recent studies have suggested that food advertising may also have a broader impact on children’s and adolescents diet and health. This piece of evidence convinced me of the seriousness of the issue.
Hi, Irene.
I found your Memo to be very interesting and compelling, and your arguments to be very strong and concise. But I can’t help and wonder that shouldn’t your last paragraph be part of the change in policy (Policy Options Brief), since the problem memo should only state about the problem of your issue, and we don’t start the solution yet until the next assignment.
Overall, I love your memo and I can’t for the policy changes you have for this issue.
