  1. Nikolina,
Your work was really got my attention because I follow the Syria crisis pretty closely since I’m one half Syrian. My mother’s father, my grandfather, came to the United States in 1906 from Syria at age 10. My grandmother was born in the United States, but her parents moved from Syria in 1900 I think.

I know the numbers with this crisis are horrible, but I really didn’t know how bad till you put it all in writing. Nine million Syrians having left there homes is pretty startling. And when you add ISIS to the mix, this situation is a powder keg. I also had no idea that only 1% of the worlds refugees qualify for the UN resettlement program. That’s really doesn’t put a dent into the problem.

I look forward to see what kind of policies you can come up with. My gut tells me that the other Arab countries have to step up like you mention. But also as you mention, these countries are stretched to the limits. Plus Bashar is not everyones favorite either. Truth is the situation is extremely complicated and sad.
