- Take the Belt Parkway to exit 6.
- Head south on Cropsey Avenue to West 17th Street.
- MCU Park and the Parachute will appear in front of you on Surf Avenue.
- 4Street Parking is available along most streets. There are commercial parking lots on West 17th Street at MCU Park and West 12th Street between Mermaid and Surf, West 15th Street between the Boardwalk and Surf and on Neptune Avenue between West 12th and Stillwell Avenue.
Permit:
In order to organize this event, we first need to submit an location requirement application to the Street Activity Permit Office (SAPO) with a processing fee of $25.50. Since the festival will process through the areas of pedestrian plaza and public park, we will need additional permission, which is the Street Activity Permit Office (SAPO) and New York City Parks Department. After the approval of location, we still need to obtain other necessary miscellaneous permits. This including the permits for playing loud music in the public area, selling alcohol and others.
For the sound permit, since our festival gathered of more than 350 people, we need to receive an approval from the New York City Police Department for the sound devices. A fee of $45 will generate per day for each sound device permit.
Since we are selling foods and drinks, we also need a Temporary Food Service establishment Permit from the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. It will cost 30 dollars for the application fee.
To maintain the safety and the success of operating this festival, we had to corporate with the New York City Police and Fire Department. We had to require permission from the New York City Police Department and the New York City Fire Department for sending out policemen and firefighters to guard the safety of the festival.
Insurance:
Our entire festival will be insurance by Coverhound Insurance Company. The insurance fee will be $1,000,000. It will cover all the accident that might occur. This including stage fall, properties damage, injury to staffs, participators, and crowd, and performance cancellation.
