Hi Everyone,

I hope you all used your time wisely this past Friday. Looks like we are all confirmed for our trip this upcoming Friday (3/3). Details are below…

  1. Please gather at the NYPL’s Main Branch  at 9am sharp. There you will meet Alexandra Kelly who will take you to your oral history training experience. PLEASE be sure that you take notes during her talk with you, and perhaps during/after your training. You should really be paying close attention to the detail of the NYPL’s oral history project, as this will be a precursor to your final gathering of data.
  2. Once the training is over at 11, you’ll have a half hour break to grab a quick bite/coffee, or to take care of post-training notes.
  3. At 11:30-12pm you’ll be given a detailed and grand tour of the Schwartzman Branch of the NYPL – and the history therein. Important here will be the details shared about the history of the library, and how you should be considering documenting the history of your research location, subjects, and spaces within.

Please try to be on time. The training usually kicks off right away, and it might be hard to catch up if you are late. You definitely will need to make sure you are in the tour group at 11:30 as well.

I’ll be somewhere in the building working on the training end or waiting for the tour. If you don’t see me when you arrive at the library, head off with Alex.

If you have any thoughts, post them here! Super excited!
