The Our Lives Matter movement began as a free writing assignment, in an English 2150 classroom at Baruch College. It embodies the idea that we achieve liberation, and consequently an improved society, when we develop the individual, as well as when we form a coalition of perhaps very different people, with the common goal of liberation and social uplift. Our Lives Matter encourages you, as a student, to ask yourself a simple, yet very complex question: Why does my life matter?
Regardless of the color of your skin, your religious preference, your gender, or you social class, we want you to know that without question YOUR LIFE MATTERS! You are of distinct, and unquantifiable value. We encourage you to post a REPLY about why you KNOW your life matters, and in doing so, affirm your power, as well as resist political, cultural, and social erasure. This is essential as we all seek collaboration, meaning, and identity.
In addition to your name and email address, please write your university in the box that says website.

My life matters because my existence is rare. Statistically, I should not be here right now. None of us should. A million different coincidences had to happen in the Universe for us all to exist here today. We should all value that. Being alive is a gift and we should use that gift to improve the world around us. It is important to give back the gift that was given to us.
I know my life matters because there are people in my life that depend on me. My parents depend on me to provide for them and help our family business continue to thrive. Before my sisters had kids, they were a big part of our family business and they took a ton of burden off the backs of my parents. Now that they have children to watch over it has become my responsibility to pick up where they left off. My life matters because my family has given me a life to have value in the first place.
My life matters because I am a sister, daughter, friend, cousin, and Niece. I am a big part of my mother’s life but also my life is important because I am mother to a 8 year old dog that is spoiled and doesn’t like to leave my side. Although, I believe I have a brighter future that I haven’t seen yet and that is why my life matters. My future has something better to hold that I haven’t seen and I need to experience.
My life matters because I want it to matter. I am a person who want to expand my knowledge and personally feel that my future will be bright. My life matters because all life matters because everyone has a purpose in life whether they know it or not.
My life matters because I am on earth for reasons. To be me, to understand how to fall in love, and to laugh with people who make me happy. I had never felt doleful or said to myself that I am not good enough because I am aware that I am helpful to anyone. Never say I’m never good enough because you’re worth it.
All lives matter because I believe that everyone has a purpose and a mission as to why they are on this earth. We are here to make the world a better place and every single living thing on this earth is here for a reason. We are here to do good and to enjoy life. We are here to encourage others to be their truest and best selves that they can be.
My life matters because I believe that I have the ability to express my full potential. Though sometimes I find myself unmotivated, I always constantly remind myself of the opportunities I would miss on if I don’t take initiative to do what’s on my mind. I believe I have so much to offer but it’s important for me and others too to understand that any forms of contributions all adds up in that end and feeling confident of having the ability to express myself freely.
My life matters because it is absolutely precious. As someone who has been through so much I have realized it is my duty to make sure others realize their life has a meaning. Everyone belongs in this world and everyone has a purpose. Personally, I am in college and I have not even lived half my life yet. I have so many experiences I have yet to explore. My life matters because I have career goals. My goal is to be a state trooper and carry around teddy bears for children who have been hurt at the hands of other people. I love to help people and make them feel wanted, loved, and cherished. There was a club in High school that my sister and I started called Bring Change to Mind. I was the vice president of this club and it sadly ended when I graduated.COVID-19 i’m a way made the club come to an end. We had an event where we talked to middle schoolers about stress, anxiety and many other topics involving mental health. Talking to these kids made me realize how my life mattered and how these kids reminded me of myself. I was once that kid who had a speech impediment and overcame so many struggles involving my mental health. Currently where I work it’s impossible to walk around not smiling. People working in the food industry have to walk around with a smile on their face which was very hard for me months ago. I constantly smile and hand out orders to just give someone a reason to smile back. I want everyone to feel like someone is happy to see them. People have no clue how a single smile can make someone feel. I love seeing people happy and that makes me continue my journey of life.
My life matters because I was brought to this earth for a reason, for a purpose. I was chosen to exist to fill in my parents places and leave a mark in this world. My life matters because I am meant to pass on my legacy down and make a mark
All lives matter because we all play a unique role in this world. We are all a friend or family to someone and mean a lot to them. My life matters because the role I play on this earth is to love and help people in the world. I like to make people feel important in my life and make them feel appreciated. In the world, we live in today a person like me is much needed. It can actually prevent someone from loosing their life and realize that they matter.
My life matters to the people that matter most to me. I carry their love with me wherever I go, and I try to share it. My life matters because I make sure others know how much they matter.
I know my life matters, I really do. However, the reason is something I wouldn’t be able to give you yet, but that’s okay! The love I’ve received from my family and friends shows me that although I may have my weaknesses and faults, me being me is enough! Don’t falter from the things you want to achieve and push forward because life is a slow grind. You’ll eventually find your place in this world!
My name is Jordan Goldberg, and I believe my life matters because Ive been taught my whole life that I was plaxed on earth for a reason. We may not know what that reason is but everyone has one, so I strive to be the best person I can be and be thankful for all the things and opportunities I’ve been given in my life.
My life matters because all human lives matter. i truly belive that humans have been given the special gift of self awareness to be able to experience the world around us. I think the special in which each person does that is what makes our lives so valuable. we each live our little mark of the world through the relationships we form with each other, the art that we created, and the impact we leave on this planet. I think that how special that mark we leave no matter how permanent it is is what really brings value to life
My life matter because I love to enjoy life, have fun and traveling the world. I believe it’s important to enjoy life because life is too short to not have fun. We should all cherish life and not let it go to waste. We can’t let life pass by and not have fun. Enjoy your life with friends and family and create memories that are worth making. Don’t let work stop you from enjoying life all the time no matter how old or young you are. Make some time to spend it with love ones because they will cherish those memories with you. Life is about learning and exploring new things you never experienced and it’s good to have memories like that.
my name is anaya and my life matters because i know i am a memory to another
my life matters because it can change at any second
my life matters because i take into account that others do too.
my life matters because in this great big world, there is only one me.
and your life matters because in this great big world there is only you.
MY LIFE MATTERS BECAUSE WAKING UP EVERYDAY IS SOMETHING TO CELEBRATE. EVERY NEW DAY COMES WITH NEW CHALLENGES AND NEW OPPORTUNITY. MANY PEOPLE DON’T APPRECIATE THE ROLLER COASTER RIDE THAT IS LIFE, WHETHER IT IS NEGATIVE OR POSITIVE EVERY EXPERIENCE HELPS BUILD YOUR CHARACTER. THE SAYING IS “LIFE IS A JOURNEY” AND I’M JUST TRYING TO ENJOY MINE.
Our lives matter because we were all put in this world with a purpose. We have the ability to create new things and change the world for the better. I came to this country when I was 3 and I grew up in a comfortable lifestyle and I am so grateful for that. I believe it is my purpose to give my gratitude to my parents by becoming a first generation college graduate in my family and take care of them as they age. To me my family is my world so in my eyes I am changing the world for the better because I will be able to give my parents everything they have given me and more.
My life matters because of the roles I subconsciously play. An older sister, a best friend, a daughter, all these roles are important even it is not deemed unique or significant. Our lives are purposeful even if we are not aware of what the purpose is precisely as we navigate through life, we can find it.
Lots of us ask ourselves why does my life matter? I could spend the rest of my life giving you a long list of reasons.
But It’s very simple. We were placed on this earth with a purpose, to live our life to its fullest extent, to reach every goal we set, to love and be loved, to work hard and have fun, but most importantly to love ourselves and the life we were given to live.
You may be asking yourself, what about the bad things we go through? Well those are some of the greatest reasons as to why our life matters. We make mistakes, we are placed in bad situations and we don’t always win what we want. But all these obstacles are placed in our path to make us stronger and wiser. Always remember, self love is the best love, I matter and You matter.
My life matters because as I am growing up in the world, I believe that I have the power to not only change the world but also change the impact that I make on the world. I want to be able to voice my options and voice the opinions of others. I live to find my purpose in this life with the support of my family and my friends.
The reason my life matters is because I’m an individual with a perspective with a unique experience of being someone who’s a man of Jamaican heritage that grew up in New York. I’m able to tell my story that’s distinct yet relatable that it can be used to be a part of representing and portraying a community or allow me to help those that are in a similar situation that I was once in and share my experiences.
Our lives matter because we create memories, ideas, and emotions with one another that leaves a story shared between each parties. Which is how history is made and passed down. All lives matter because we all have our own stories and experience that is not only interesting to listen but also experience to live in. We should all live our lives to the fullest without any regrets.
My life matters because I was put on this earth to love. This love will live on in the hearts of those I have loved and have loved me. Being a friend to someone is to love. To listen is to love. Being the shoulder to cry on could have saved someone’s life. In this way, my life matters forever, because I have made a difference, and that is what means the world to me.
My life matters because as I grow, so do my relationships with others. When I eventually leave the world, part of me will be with each of those who I’ve met, befriended, and loved. My life matters because of the impact and change it may have inspired in those around me.
“The unexamined life is not worth living” – Socrates. These words by the great philosopher are words that I live by and inspire me to find my purpose in life. I believe that life is best lived when one is constantly asking questions, discovering new things, and being able to transform mundane situations into situations in which one learns something. My life matters because, on a daily basis, I make it my duty to possess these characteristics mentioned; I strive to ask questions and to learn something new every day. Living a life in which I did not make an active attempt to learn and discover, would not have much meaning to it, but this pursuit of answers is what makes my life truly matter.
Our lives matter because each of us individually makes up a generation of people who will impact the world for the better. This does not persist for only our generation but for all generations because not only must we do our part to benefit the world for the better but also to nurture the next generation and to guide them towards the same path as well. Each of our lives is just as important as any other as the little things we do for each other eventually build up and accumulate into something big and positive. I always believe that no matter how small, or insignificant, your actions are, just remember that it takes the actions of all of us as a whole generation to act in uniform and bring upon good change.
I would say my life matters because I provide a space for others to feel heard and not feel alone. Everyone is battling with something, and allowing for someone to feel safe to open up about how their feeling and what they’re going through and letting them know that they are not alone can make someone feel much better, and that is what I strive to do- to make people feel better.
Our lives matter because everyone is important. There is a reason for everyone to be who they are. All the things we do in our lives make an impact on the world and other people. You may not know it but your tiny actions will impact your community and future generations.
First and foremost, all of our lives matter because every single person that is brought into this earth is here to serve a purpose. No matter what spectrum it lies on, everyone has some sort of passion that they wish to fulfill throughout their lifetime. We are all human and are all capable of achieving anything that we want as long as we put in that effort and drive. Personally, my life matters because I want to make myself proud before anyone else. My ambitions, talents, and interests drive me to work and strive harder everyday. Knowing that I dedicate my fullest to everything that I accomplish, makes me feel proud knowing that I am in control of my own capabilities. I want to inspire people every chance I get and give them advice that can bring their mindset to a more positive and optimistic view. My dreams keep me going. Knowing that everything I do now will lead up to my future endeavors makes me happy to know that my life matters and is worth it.
I believe our lives matter because we can change the world. We want to leave a mark on the world whether it be inspiring others, helping others, or fighting for a cause we believe in. I want people to remember what I left behind and cherish and remember me my that achievement. Everyone should have a chance to achieve their goals and live the life they dreamed about.
I believe our lives matter because we’re a gift that was born into this world for a purpose. We’re all here as a gift to help and inspire one other with our talents. We’re the next generation, and we will be the next ones to make a difference and leave this world better than we first found it.
I believe my life matters because I am here to make a difference on the world. I am a first generation college student in my family. I have family that loves and support me through all the decisions I make. They have taught me how to be a better person everyday. The love and connections I make with people are why my life matters. I embrace everything about me because I know I am loved no matter what. My life matters because of the love and kindness I bring into this world. I want to make everyday better than the last and try my best at whatever I put my mind to.
My life matters from the moment I was conceived until now, as I was able to form many meaningful and important connections throughout my life. In the end, even if I don’t leave any mark on this planet, being able to be part of someone’s life is enough, whether it’d be an unforgettable image or a fleeting memory.
My life matters because of the people around me. People such as my loving girlfriend who gives me meaning and makes me look forward to the life I cannot wait to spend with her. People like my parents, who sacrificed so much for me to live the life I want to live. Before opening my eyes, I remember being in a dark place within my life where I thought my life was headed nowhere, but the fact I’m here today and able to pursue my dreams shows me that everyone’s life matters and everyone is capable of success and the only limits we have are the ones in which we put upon ourselves. I will forever be grateful for the people around me who lifted me up when I was down, as they made me realize that my life matters.
When asked the question “why does your life matter ?” one might be left with much confusion and uncertainty. My life matters for numerous reasons however when handed such a personal yet broad question it is quite difficult to “accurately” respond to those words. I strongly believe that everyone is brought to this earth for various reasons. Everyone has a purpose. When initially handed this question the first thought that came to mind was the probability of one being born. In essence, the odds of being born are one in 400 trillion. This excessively large probability allows me to infer that everyone’s existence is extremely precious. However, recently when trying to figure out why my life matters I began to think about my ancestors as well as the experiences, milestones and challenges I’ve endured. As a 19 year year old college student I’ve discovered that my life matters due to numerous reasons. My life matters because I am a daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin, girlfriend, friend, student and an acquaintance. The list goes on. I have a strong purpose and meaning to hundreds of people around me. I’ve changed peoples lives in such powerful ways, and I’ve established such a strong and meaningful role in many lives.
My life matters because of the small things that I do to try and better my community. I may not have a big impact on the whole world but my immediate community is my top priority and if I can spread kindness and wisdom there, then I have made a difference in this world.
My life matters to me because of people. Everyone I meet I try to form a connection with. If I’m not able to form a connection with them then that individual was never meant to be in my life. I believe my life matters because I help those around me find their purpose and find out why their lives matter.
When I say our lives matter, I say that as a fact rather than an opinion. We are all unique and nobody can ever replace us. We stand for something in the lives of everyone we meet. We are important to ourselves and the people around us. Us being here makes the world a better place. This is why our lives matter.
My life matters even when there was a time when I thought it was worth nothing. The time when I thought that there was no need to live anymore, the more there was a reason to live. A reason to see through with what I still have in my life. Life is long to the present mind, but the future comes by quickly. Like that, days go by, weeks go by, and years go by. Eventually decades will come and there will come a day, when the future mind and the present mind collide. Until that day comes though, my life will continue to matter. Until the day that I will be forgotten by the rest of the world. A day that will continue on as it always will. My life matters, even if I will it not to.
My life matters for many reasons. One big reason is my family. My family is the backbone of who I am. Taught me right from wrong, helped shape my future and overall helped me become the man I’m growing into today. They are my biggest supporters and deserve nothing but the best from me. They taught me how to preserve through challenges life presents. Through the struggles, I’ve experienced doubt and learned how much it can affect someone. Doubt will make someone question their own ability. I cannot afford to do so. I believe I can do anything with perseverance and hard work. In essence, The dream is free however the hustle is sold separately. I used to think my struggles would last a long time and fell victim to doubt. However, as time went on I realized these struggles are temporary and with positive outlooks on life and disciplining oneself. It can change a person completely. I learned you gotta struggle before the come up. It teaches you a place you never want to return to.
My life, along with all other lives matter because we were created with a purpose and the world would be different if we weren’t here. My life matters because I have a lot to do and discover in this life. My life matters because I can help change the world for the better and make a difference. I matter because I am loved and cherished by my family and friends. Now why does your life matter?
My life matters because so many wonderful people, places, and things surround me. I am honestly very blessed to be who I am, however it has taken me a long time to get here. For a while I was ashamed of how I acted and how I looked, but today I have learned to embrace everything about me!
Your life matters too, because you are wonderful and you also have amazing people, places, and things around you. It may be hard to notice, but just take a second and glance at everything surrounding you. Eventually you will start to notice.
All of our lives matter!
In this world, our lives matter because we are a piece of a much larger equation. We all play a part in making our world better and if we can all do our part in changing the norm we have done our part in making sure our earth is safe and healthy. Our lives matter because we are here for a reason at this time period. We are all meant for something in the world, with our families, and with ourselves. Always strive to be the best you can be! You Matter!
My life matters because I feel like I have the potential to change the world and I don’t feel like that should taken from me. I have the potential to make life better for my loved ones and less fortunate. Everyone deserves a chance make the most of their life. I believe I am entitled to the same opportunities as anyone else in the world as long as I am qualified. I have a beautiful family that only wants the best for me and I want to take care of them the same way they have taken care of me. I want to be remembered as someone who made an impact on the world. This is why my life matters.
My life matters because I have so many firsts to do in this life that will affect my family.
Both my parents came as immigrants and sacrificed their young adulthood to ensure that I had opportunities they didn’t have in their motherland. I even have more to live for as I have a little girl that will look up to me. I work in community work in staten island in lower income areas. And I know my lifes work is to help children to feel loved and protected. So my life does matter as I will change any life I touch moving foward.
I believe that my life matters because everybody serves a purpose in this world, and having that taken from you does not make sense. I think that everyone is capable of achieving something great and making a significant contribution to society. I feel like my life in specific carries significance because of the impact I have on others and my interactions with them. And I feel like my life has only begun, and I have so much more to do as well as the ability to make something great. This is why I believe that my life matters in the grand scheme of things.
I believe my life matters because everyone has the Opportunity to make an impact on others. everyone should value their lives and know that everyone has the Opportunity to create change and have a positive impact on others
Our lives matter because we all have different goals which leads to various ways that we can impact the world. There is so much that we are capable of doing and I believe this is one of the reasons why my life matters as I have so much to do in the future which I have yet to get started on. All of us are a part of some type of community and we all make difference together as a team. We are all unique in our own ways and have so much to still discover about ourselves.
My life matters for a plethora of reasons. I believe we all make an impact of some sort in this world, it is up to us if that is positive or negative. Personally I am trying my best to make mine positive. I know I am a role model to people like my little sister, some friends, and some family. I make sure I learn from every mistake I make and pass my knowledge on to those who need it. As Prof. Collier has mentioned in class the meaning of life is to leave the world better than we found it and I believe I am doing that to the best of my ability.
I think our lives matter because everyone has their purpose in life. They just have to find it. Everyone can make a difference in this world no matter who you are.
Our lives matter because I believe each one of us has a specific idea which can be contributed to the rest of the world. None of us are the same. We all have a unique self and we should be able to express our lives and share them and positively affected the world.
Our life matters because why wouldn’t it; everyone’s life matters. I might not have everything figured out but, I have my family members and friends to help me on my journey as we motivate and inspire each other to do our best. We all have goals we want to accomplish; our futures are bright as the possibilities are endless. We are all here for a reason and, I would love to make a positive impact on this world. We all have a lot to offer this world and can be the change that the world needs to become a better place!
My life matters because everyone was put on to this planet for a reason. Every should be well respected and treated the right way. If you stay positive the negativity won’t find its way to you.
My name is Hannah Klubnik and my life matters because I am a human being. All human beings deserve respect.
Since I am a human being I contribute to the world in various ways. I am a daughter, sister, friend, and much more too many people in this world. So many people care about me and I care about them. Which is one of the best things about being a human being, we all take care of each other and care about one another. There is so much love that human beings offer each other and that is why our lives matter. We need each other to show love and accept love! Because that is what being human is all about.
My life matters because our life impacts others. Whether you’re a sister, a daughter, or a friend these bonds help us connect with others. Our life affects the bonds we have wit each other. It is our own life that can make a person’s day better. You don’t even have to always be there directly , just knowing that a certain person exists can be enough sometimes. I also believe that we have a purpose in this world. We might not know right now and maybe you do but I think that we are all meant to do something with our lives. Everyone has different passions and we have these passions for reasons. You have a purpose and have passions because they’re meant for you.
All lives matter! I believe this because we all are blessed with amazing attributes that will paint the path for success for ourselves and the success of others. We have the power to enhanced others and ourselves with the great force of happiness and positivity. Every person is blessed with the ability to bring joy and motivate others towards their true potential! Every life is valuable regardless of race, sex, religion, etc.
Why my life matters? I would say that my life matter to my family and friends. All my dad has is me and I need to be in his life. My friends need my emotional support and I need them, My life matters to those who care for me and who I care for. I want to be able to make the slightest changes in the world where the people I meet will be happy because they had met me and that I brought happiness to them. Thats why my life matters.
I believe that our lives matter because I believe that we all have the ability to impact the world wether that be your friends or family or your community or the nation. I believe that we were all brought into this world so that can we can accomplish our personal goal in life. This goal that we come up with ourselves can come to us at any moment and can be very different than anybody’s else’s. I also believe that my life matters because I believe that I haven’t accomplished my personal goal in life and that I am still able to impact and encourage more people in their life goal and mission.
Why does my life matter? My life matters because I am able to use my physical presence to create a change for the greater good by using my voice and love to help other people and hopefully rub off onto others in a positive manner. My life also matters not just to me, but to others as well. I am always reminded how much I am loved by friends and family, and I know how hurt they would be if I thought that my life didn’t matter
ENG 2100, 7:50 AM
My life matter because I was born here with a purpose. A purpose that is unique to each and every single one of us human beings. I know that life is not to be taken for granted, and I am going to fulfill what I came down on this planet for. This does not only apply to me but this applies to every human being that has walked on the face of Earth. Our lives also matter due to the fact that we were all born equal into this world. I am no better than anyone and I am proud to say that since all of our lives matter.
My live matters because I was put here for a reason even if I don’t know it yet. My live matters because I have a lot of dreams and goal that I want to fulfill and places that I want to. I have so much to experience and many emotions I have yet to feel. my live matters because once day I want to say I’ve master my talent and achieved my goals as an artist. my life matters because I want to make a mark in this world through what I am passionate about and love. My live matters because I want to see the world change and society succeed.
I know my life matters because I don’t believe that I was born just to waste my life. There are things that I’m exploring And things that I believe I was called to do, so I’m not in the business of wasting any time. Also, I don’t need anyone to proclaim that my life matters, all that matters to me is that I know my worth and that is really all that is important.
My life matters because of what I intend to do with it. I intend to do the very best that I can to help and positively effect as many lives that I can. It is important to know that your life matters. Life is an interconnected web of lives that brings people, animals, and nature, all together. A sense of individuality however, is important in order for us to find a sense of self, so that we don’t get too lost in life’s intricate web.
“To live is the rarest thing in the world; most people just exist.” -Oscar Wilde. Inspired by this quote, I have ever since then tried to live life with a purpose in mind. Therefore, my life matters because I have a purpose to achieve in life. Even though I haven’t found my purpose, my life still matters because the only way to find it, is to keep living and keep searching. Therefore, I see all of our lives as different journeys in which we search for our purpose. So before we all find our purposes, my life matters, and so does yours.
My life matters because I gave myself a purpose. I gave myself goals and expectations that I wish to achieve. Everyone has their own aspect of life and what it means to them. There isn’t a right or wrong answer to why my life or why anyone else’s life matters but we all know for a fact that we do matter. I will become a successful black women in whatever industry I desire and make my family proud and make a big impact in the world and that is why my life matters.
Why does my life matter? Well… the “my” part gives my life value. I am my own person, raised in a different setting than everyone else in the world, besides my siblings. I have my own thoughts, my own insight, my own knowledge and specialties. I believe that collaborate efforts often lead to the best work, as people from different backgrounds with different knowledge and experiences can contribute in their own, specific ways. I think my uniqueness and independent mind can contribute much to society, solely from my individuality, which gives my life value. In the end, a person’s value can be judged by what they can contribute to society, and I think our unique minds give us all value, because people become irreplaceable thinkers as their life experiences forge their minds.
My life matters because I say it does. This is a powerful statement I have learned does not require validation from anyone but myself. I was put on this earth to fulfill a purpose and although I may not know what that purpose is, I am going to live life meanwhile. And when I say live life I mean live it for you first. Almost daily we’re put in a predicament to decide where or what is next in our journey of life. My advice is to always ask yourself what YOU want, what you believe is right for you in your heart. My life matters, and your life matters, so never let anyone try to convince you otherwise. As long as you trust and believe in yourself, it is hard for others to knock you down.
My life matters because I make a huge impact on those around me. I don’t like seeing people struggle around me, it makes me want to go help them right away. My life matters because of the loving and supporting family I have by my side. Having people push you to achieve the goals makes you remember why you started that thing in the first place. But most of all my life matters because it’s a life that will continue to learn from mistakes make me grow as a person.
As I have grown and experienced all that life has to offer me so far I can most certainly say that my life matters but that was not always my thought process. Throughout a large portion of my life I was convinced that I was just a spec in the galaxy and despite that being the case back then this acknowledgement meant that I was insignificant. For so long I ignored the idea that “everyone has a purpose in life” or that “we were put on this earth for a reason” because I did not think much of myself in this universe. It was not until I witnessed others feeling the way I felt that I realized my life mattered. I was able to fully grasp this concept of my life mattering due to the way someone else’s notion of themselves made me feel because it made me reflect on how much of an impact we may be able to have on others. In life we can not make it through alone successfully. We are not able to thrive without the support of one another and this concept of being there for someone else when they need it the most allows me to understand why my life matters and despite there being many more reasons than this, I believe this one is one that many do not acknowledge.
My life matters because I am a strong independent woman who has confidence and grace and just like any other, I can change the world. I feel strongly about making a change in this world and that is something I will continue to pursue throughout my life. I have a determination like no other and although my dream (to become an actress) is a hard one, it is something I will never let go of. I feel it is extremely valuable to have role models to look up to and one day I want to be a role model as well. I feel everyones life matters and it is important to become confident knowing that. Each and every person was put on this earth for a reason and every life is truly a long adventure. It is important to be strong, kind and loving towards others because everybody else matters too!
As a holocaust survivor’s granddaughter, I know my life matters because I know that one day, I would finish school and help others and my family, especially with everything going on in the world today. I must rise above and better myself for my family and myself, most importantly. My life matters because I am here to make an impact, fight racism, and leave this world better than I found it.
My life matters because my unique story can be shared and help others. My life matters because I have my best friends with me all the time and we all help each other when we need. My life matters because I make my parents proud by being their first child to go to college. My life matters because I’m my siblings biggest supporter. Since I am the oldest I help them as my parents have help me before. I have come a long way from being a child from a country that not many have heard from. I’ve made my grandparents proud. I am also very happy to say that I have also made my first coach proud. He can rest easy knowing that I’ll always follow my dreams and that my sister will achieve her dream as well. His death impacted me tremendously but he was able to let me know to enjoy life. Thank and love everyone. And to most impala aya be myself.
Everyone is living in their own story. We are the main characters in our stories and we get to choose how the story progresses. Our lives matter because there can’t be a story without a main character. If we, the main characters, were to disappear in our own story, everyone around us would also get affected. As the main character in my story, my life matters because I get to decide how my story ends. I want my story to have a good ending and a lasting impact so that people can remember my story. There are goals that I want to achieve and stuff I want to do. Our lives matter because we live to make and change our stories to be the best it can be.
It is always important to remind yourself that your life matters. Remembering that your life matters will be a driving force for your happiness and ambitions. Remembering that your life matters can help you build a better relationship with yourself. It can fill you with determination and confidence when you need it the most. I believe that my life matters because I have a mom and sister that want to see me happy and achieving my dreams. My life matters because I have friends who you have supported and will continue to support, as will they to you. Your life matters because I have a lot I want to experience and accomplish, and I can’t do it without myself.
I believe our lives matter because everyone can impact the world no matter how small or big actions we are taking. Each one of us is unique and special. Sometimes we can influence and inspire other people that we might not even notice, and vice versa. Therefore, everyone should believe in our lives matters, and we all can leave the world better than we found it!
Looking back at my last semester post, I still believe that I have a long journey to go before I find my reason to matter. I understand that I have friends and family that care about me but I have yet to find my main purpose on this Earth. This organization has shown me that everyone has a purpose, whether they know it or not. Everyone’s lives matter whether they choose to believe it or not.
My life does matter because, foremost, I have a purpose and a mission to accomplish. I look around to see the impact I have made and that I want to make in the world especially on the people that I influence by my actions, whether directly or indirectly. One of my missions is to try and improve the lives of others which has helped me to get focused on my time and get through the years and days. The major drive is the thought that one day I may not be there to love and cherish, and make the people I care for feel loved and appreciated by my actions. My life also matters because I have a mission to bring a smile to vulnerable populations (such as street children) through actions that can change their stories and create special moments and memories for them. Most importantly, my life matters because I am surrounded by a caring and loving family. My family has been my motivation in so many aspects and it’s because of them that I have become the person that I am today.
Those that know me are well aware of how shy I am, despite that I will always go out of my way to smile at anyone I see. Living in a big city this small action is mostly ignored, yet for those that do notice, it can have an impact on them. You never know what someone is going through or what they are thinking, they could be going through a tough time and a friendly face might be able to help. This small action that I’ve done for as long as I can remember has shown me that my life matters because I have the ability to help others with something as simple as a smile.
Our lives matter:
I believe in “Our Lives Matter” because we are Human beings. At the end of the day, all lives matter for us no matter who you are, where you are from. I believe that ‘Our lives matter” because we also play the same role as all of them. No race, gender, or ethnicity matters at this point. White mob Vs. African American rights start in the United States made, although black people also play a major role to develop this country but at the end of life, some people disrespect them and think that they are out of this world like an Alien. In this case, the reduction of respect between white and black turned into a different circumstance in the 21st century.
The Our Lives Matter club is a great organization, it really helps people believe in their self-worth. This club really tries to make everyone see that people care about them and that they matter. I am so happy that I was able to partake in this club and help people reevaluate their worth.
My life matters because I believe that I was put on earth for a special reason. I do truly believe that my creative mind and my constant will to always try and start something new and innovative, is to make our society a better place. With the mind and ideas I was blessed with my life matters more than ever simple to share my ideas and spread happiness as much as I can.

Our lives matter because each of us has the meaning of existence; we are all unique individuals; we all have relatives, lovers, and friends; we all have emotions and desires; we all have the goals and dreams we want to accomplish; we all have the lives we pursue. We should not distinguish certain people because of certain labels. Because each of us exists in this world, there is a meaning of existence. We can do the reasonable things we want to do, and pursue all the good things. We all are important and meaningful in this world!
Why my life matter? First and foremost, I have family and friends. When anyone close to them dies, it will have a huge effect on them. I’m sure I’d be a good example. If I died, my daughter would lose her dearest mother, and she would have no one to take care of her. She will feel lonely in this world. To be honest, I don’t give a damn about my own life, but I try to think about other people’s lives and how I can assist them. And if you think it doesn’t matter, well, that’s a matter of perspective. However, nothing is thrown away biologically. The second point is that everything is recycled after it has passed to generate new life. Apart from that, many religious people regard God as a sufficient explanation. Some people live for education or their families, while others live for participating in such events. A single life wouldn’t make a difference in the majority of cases, but I promise you that it would affect someone somewhere.
When first asked, “Why does your life matter?” I was hesitant. My mind went completely blank and I couldn’t help but re-ask myself the question over and over again. But the more I thought about it, the more things started to come up. So, why does my life matter? My life matters because I want to be able to share my personal experiences with other people in the hopes of inspiring them that it’s okay to be hesitant if you’re unsure at first. My life matters because I want to continue my parents’ legacy and continue making them proud. My life matters because I have so many bucket list goals that I want to accomplish and won’t stop until I accomplish them all. My life matters because I can advocate for things that I’m passionate about and use my voice for good. But most importantly, my life matters because of my amazing friends and family that support me no matter what. With all that being said, I think often times we neglect the privilege of being able to here, so I want to be able to spread this message and remind people that there are so many great things that make life worth living and to be grateful for everything given to us.
From a very young age, I have felt the need to provide for my family. I have seen how my parents have struggled economically so many years, doing whatever they can to provide for me and my brothers. I also have seen how despite their own struggles, they are some of the most selfless people I’ve ever met. My life matters because I feel destined to support my loved ones around me. I have thankfully received so much love from family and friends that I would like to follow their example and help those around me as much as I can.
Our lives matter because we are all put on this earth to serve a purpose. We are all special in our own way. I may not mean anything to you, but I mean everything to someone else. We all matter and not because society says so, but because we say so.
Everyone is put onto this Earth for a reason. We all have a purpose whether it be major or minor. There is a reason that I wake up every single morning, it’s because I’m here to fulfill my life journey. I’m still trying to figure out what exactly it is, but I’m still young and I have time. I’m going to make a change in this world and make it just a tiny bit better for the generations ahead.
Why does my life matter? For some time, I was not able to answer this question. After years of searching and wondering, I figured it out. I am unique and important in my own ways, just like everyone else is out there. My actions have an impact on everything and everyone around me. If I suddenly vanished one day, nothing would be the same; everything would change. I also believe that I can make a good difference in the world.
My life matters because i was placed on this earth to make a difference. While i know my life matter, but i’ve never took time out to asks why it matter. For one I have only one life and its important to me that i live it to the best of my abilities. i want my life to have meanings ,and purpose. I want to raise my children and watch them grow to become successful adults. I want to have true happiness. My life is important because i have people depending on me that i can’t let down. My life matter because life is precious, we only live once and i’m determined to make it count.
Why does my life in particular matter? What meaning does it have it to the world? It’s a question that many including I have about myself. Personally though, I feel as if it matters because everyone’s life matters. Every interaction we have with others, every word we speak affect people and we all seek to leave the world better than we found it. No one seeks make the world worse as we are all the heroes of our own stories and collectively we will all improve the world we live in by the time we leave. The true meaning in life is to make those around us smile and happy. That is why all lives matter.
In my anthropology class, I had taken in the Fall Semester, it had shed light on the different customs and traditions of various people throughout the world in various periods of time. Many people had lived different lives and shouldn’t be judged for who they are and what they do. Everyone is someone’s parent, child, sibling, or friend. We all contribute to each other no matter how small. From small conversations in a class to a new friend met on the street, we can change each other for the better and leave a positive impact no matter who we are.
Life is such a beautiful thing. Not everyone is born into a perfect family with a comfortable life. However, you learn so much throughout your journey. Everyone has a different story to tell and other goals. Without lives, the world would be a lonely and depressing place. There would be no goals, dreams, and no people trying to better themselves and impact the world. Happiness is the end goal for most people, and that is what drives a lot of people. When you reach your goals, you realize leaving your legacy to the world, so future generations look back and go with the path you left. My life matters, and so does others. I live every day to find happiness and impact the people I love positively.
Why do our lives matter? Our lives matter because the entire world is made of people just like us. When we and respect our own life, it is a lot easier to value and respect the lives of others. The atrocities and tragedies in the world occur simply because people may not care about other people’s lives. Many people are unable to appreciate people who are different from themselves. This is actually a reflection of them not valuing their own life. One who respects their own life, could never hurt another. We usually tend to think that if we extend care to other people, the world will be a better place. And while this is true, it is more important to remind ourselves why OUR lives matter. It is only when we can realize our influence and our value, we are able to better serve the people around us. If we could all foster an intimate understanding of why OUR life matters, we can absolutely leave the world better than we found it. Understanding why our life matters is a selfless act through which we can be better for the people around us.
My life matters because I will be the daughter that makes my parents proud in the future and bring more postive effects to the world. I can also play a unique role in the grand scheme of things.
Why does my life matter? My life matters because it is unique in my own way. No one gets to step in my shoes and control what I want to do and be in life but myself. I live, I laugh, and I learn. These are the 3 L’s that I follow to keep me on the right track. Everyday I try to walk up and be a better version of myself compared to yesterday, whether it’s helping someone out, learning something new, or making someone smile. The best feeling for me is knowing that I motivated someone or uplifted their mood from my presence. My life matters and so do yours. We are all the same, we are human and we all make mistakes. The ultimate goal in my life is to impact the world so that it can be a better place for the future generations.
I believe my life matters because I believe all people were put here on this earth with a purpose. Nobody was born by accident and were were born with different personalities as well as different skills and abilities. The purpose of life for each and every one of us is to discover what these abilities are are and put them to the best use possible. We must use these abilities to try and make the world a better place by giving to the less fortunate and contributing to the greater good of society.
I actually never thought about why my life matters. Maybe we are all on this earth for a reason. Maybe each person has a goal they have to fulfill before they leave the earth. I personally think if anyone was to die, it would impact a lot of people. Everything would be a negative impact. There would be no positive impact when someone dies.
All lives matter because everyone is loved and appreciated by someone. My life matters to me more than ever now as a result of my 5 year old son who I am solely responsible for his upbringing and all round well being. I have lived a carefree life as a result of losing both parents at a young age and knowing how that affected me I wouldn’t want such to happen to my son. My dreams and aspirations for a much better quality of life keeps me focused and appreciative of life even more.
I believe that the Our Lives Matter movement is important because of its emphasis on the individual. The movement seeks to improve society by emphasizing the importance of each and every life. Participants of the Our Lives Matter movement are asked to think about the question: Why does my life matter? It’s important to ask ourselves this question because it forces us to look within ourselves and our experiences. It allows us to truly evaluate the things that matter to us and the things that give our life meaning. Our answers don’t have to be perfect or complete but that’s okay because we are still living, learning, and improving. With Our Lives Matter, we are given a chance to express ourselves in the way that we want, which is especially important because there aren’t always opportunities to do so. Because of this movement, I was able to really think about my life and why it matters. I also got that chance to connect with some amazing people and hear about their experiences. As time passes and I grow older, I hope that I keep asking myself “Why does my life matter?” and that I am able to build upon my initial answer with all of my new experiences. I hope that the Our Lives Matter movement and its message reaches as many people as it can.
My life matters to many people, while it may not matter at all to others. However, I am in this world and I have the ability to change this world. I matter to my family, friends, and everyone surrounding me. This is because my actions lead to many things in life. Whether it is intentional or not, what I do can result in pleasures of others. Therefore, to live in this world, I have the ability to leave it better than how I came into it. Therefore, I believe my life matters to those I know and those I do not know, since my actions can have an affect on many people, and I strive for the affect to be for the better.
The Our Lives Matter movement is very important because it allows everyone to find a reason that makes them a unique and powerful individual. No matter how anyone is feeling, they can use this movement to know that they are significant. Furthermore, it can be very uplifting and a way to boost your confidence in yourself and in those around you. Therefore, it is crucial that this movement is able to reach people from all over the world and impact them in a positive way.
I believe that everything in this world is connected which is known as the law of divine oneness. The main message of this law is that we are connected in some shape or form with the rest of the universe. Meaning that our actions and thoughts have an impact whether it be positive or negative or small or big. The majority of us think that the world would be better off without us, that they don’t need our presence, our negativity. Those people who are stuck with those pessimistic thoughts are wrong. We will miss your smile, the sound of you laughing, the person we once had in our life. We will reminisce the old memories while longing for new ones. We will grieve your loss and hate the universe for taking you away. You are important. You matter. No matter how small you may feel, your energy has had and will continue to affect the world.
Why does my life matter? My life just like everyone else’s is extremely important. My life matters because I can change the world for the better and I can make a difference. My life matters to my loved ones and there are people that care for me. Nobody has the right to tell you that you are not good enough and you can not do something you want to do. Live your life to the fullest because it really is precious and it goes by faster than you think. As the famous quote say, “Live every moment, Laugh every day, Love beyond words.” Go out in the world make a difference and enjoy every moment because you are important.
My life matters because I can use my voice and privilege to help those who may not have the opportunity to use theirs. My life matters because I can make a difference in my community through kindness, compassion, and the talents God gave me. My life matters because of my family who love and support me in everything I do. That’s why I want to use my life to support them and help others.
Why my life matter? Everyone’s lives matter. We all have a purpose in this world. Every day we wake up we have a new opportunity to fix our problems and to do better. My life matters because I was chosen to be born and to live in this world. My life matters because I could help someone one day. My life matters because I could teach someone. My life matters more than ever because we have to live to help each other. My life has a purpose and I should live my life to the fullest, to do things with respect, always be simple, love humans, and follow god.
Why does my life matter? First, it is a very smart question that we have to ask ourselves every day so, we can feel the importance of being a life. In my opinion I think every single person in this life matter. And also, that every idea can make a different. can you imagine the world without you?. It will be so different, your family will be different, your friends will be different, and even a random man or woman on street will be different. You do not know who important you are to others or what change you making in their lives, but the people around you can feel it. In my religion we believe that everything in this world is for a reason. This belief applies to humans too, not just things. Everything you do you will be affecting others, not just you. That is why our life matter!
All lives matter because God created us all different. It does not matt what race, culture, religion, culture, sex, nationality we are as long as we humans on the planet. In America, we are a melting pot with a variety of different people. We are created in God’s image and likeness. All lives matter especially those who are frontline workers who are working during this difficult time. Yes, I respect everyone no matter who you are. God Bless America!!!
All lives matter because we are all different. God made us all unique
My life matters because I am unique in this world. My life matters because of the people I love and the people who love me. My life matters because there is always meaning in life. For example, I went to volunteer during the summer vacation when I graduated from high school. This not have a big impact or make any big difference to the world and to the society, but I feel I was helping people. Although I may be ordinary and have no great achievements, at least my life is meaningful to my parents. I live to make my parents feel happy and joyful. Everyone is born unique. Every life coming is worthy of gratitude and cherished. Our lives matter.
My life matters because I am unique in this world. Although I may be ordinary and have no great achievements, at least my life is meaningful to my parents. I live to make my parents feel happy and joyful. Then this is the meaning of my life. Don’t think about your mediocrity and feel that life is meaningless. There is always meaning in life. For example, I went to volunteer during the summer vacation after I graduated from high school. This not have a big impact or make any big difference to the world and to the society, but I feel I was helping people and that’s the meaning of my life. My life matters because of the people I love and the people who love me.
Everyone is born unique. Every life coming is worthy of gratitude and cherished. Our lives matter!
Everyone on this earth is a treasure from god. We all made differently, unique and have different paths in life. Everyone has a purpose in life that they are set out to do but probably do not know it yet and therefore all life matter. I say this because maybe one’s purpose is not to benefit themselves but to impact someone else life in some way. My life matter because I am a role model to my nephews and nieces. If I fail to give them guidance than I will not be doing what I was put here to do. Its important that when you are no longer able to carry out your purpose that the people around you remember the great impact you created on others. The true meaning to life is to always be happy with what you are doing.
My life matters to God and to my family. My life makes difference to my community and to my church. It might not seem as important but it makes different in my community.
My mom taught me to treat people the way I want to be treated. Since then, I have followed her words. My life matters because I am a friend, a daughter, a teacher, and a girlfriend. My life matters because I bring positivity to other people’s lives. I try to change the world by being a good person. My heart is full of love and I have so many emotions and feelings to offer. I believe I am the good that is happening to other people. My life matters because I change people’s hearts and I try to show them that with love we can change everything. I believe I was born to be somebody. I think my mission on Earth is to spread love.
Why are live matters? because if there’s no live around there world, the world is gonna turn into darkness, the world is gonna turn into like hell. There is newborn baby and there’s new death goes around there world every day, so why my lives matters, because lives are like a journal, we born and we the people have to write down our own journal and makes our own lives become more bright, no one can change your lives except yourselves.
My life matters to God, my life matters to my family, my life matters to my friends, and my life matters to my church. To some people my life may not matter at all but to those listed above, my life matters a great deal. I am placed here to make an impact in the lives of people who God has caused to cross my paths. Some can be save simply because we met or learn to to forgive because we met. Whatever the case I’m here for a reason and I thanks God that I am.
My life matters because I am unique from anyone else. A quote I once read that I want to paraphrase is that no one person will ever share the same experience or share the same world view as another person. I think that everyone has their own voice that they need to share with the world, including me. I might not have had the best upbringing or the best childhood but I am grateful for everything that was given to me. Now I want everyone to know me for who I am. I am an aspiring student who wishes to be successful in life. Although it’s a small goal, it’s one I’m willing to work hard for to achieve.
My life matters because I decided that it did. I spent years telling myself otherwise and caused so much damage along the way. One day I came to the realization that the things hindering me from reaching that level of self-actualization were meaningless. Simultaneously, I realized how much love was surrounding me. I started by telling myself that my life mattered because I had that love in my life. That worked but I knew I could go beyond that because I didn’t want my self worth to be dependent on others. I began to tell myself that my life mattered because it just did and somehow I eventually convinced myself. Now I am the happiest I’ve ever been. I’m thriving because I know my life matters and I still have so much love surrounding me.
Why does my life matter? It’s a question that is always lingers in my head. I have my beliefs and I believe we are all here to make a change and a difference. My life matters because all the decisions and interaction I have throughout each day have consequences. These interaction may help people with their lives. Everything I do essentially has a butterfly effect. Everyone is different yet the same in some sense and we all have an importance in someone’s life that we come in contact with even if it’s just a brief meeting. Each individual makes a difference.
My life matters because I am able to make an impact on the world, regardless of how big or small that impact may be. I make an impact on my family and my friends and those who are close to me. The way that I care for them and the way that they care for me makes a difference in their lives. I also make an impact on my community every time I choose to be involved in something that affects somebody else’s life. There is no limit to the impact that I can make and that is why my life matters.
Our lives matter because each of us is unique, everyone will have their own wonderful part. We can all do something for this world, no matter the big or small things, we all bring more colors to this world.
Our lives matter. But not because we were put here for greatness or because we have what it takes, they matter because we as a collective unit decide what happens next in this world. Not just for us but for those who come after, this must be seen as a blessing as we should never forget how lucky we are to be living in a time where change is always upon us.
My life matters because it just does. It might sound a bit weird or cheesy but I believe I’m here to do something. I was brought here for a reason and I might not know it yet but I will soon. And everyone else’s lives matter because if it weren’t for certain people, I wouldn’t have become the person I am today. Everyone is a part of someones life whether it be a best friend, a boyfriend or a classmate, they all help shape us and help us grow.
To me, it is very apparent that my life matters. I am fortunate enough to say I am loved by many, whether it be friends or family, and if I were to magically disappear from this world, their lives would be undoubtedly impacted in a negative light. People rely on me, ask me for advice, and I give joy to many people through their respective tough times. As a religious person as well, I believe God placed me on this world because the world was incomplete without me. We are all cogs in this extraordinary, nonstop machine and without any single one of us, the world would not be complete. I am yet to find my purpose in life, but I can still confidently and humbly say that my life matters indeed.
“To the world you may be just one person, but to one person you may be the world.” This is definitely one of the cheesiest quotes of all time. Unfortunately the cheesier the quote, the truer the message. After all, a cliche is a thought deemed so unoriginal- it must be universal truth (and should always be avoided in writing!)
This specific quote is why I believe my life is important. I know in the grand scheme of things, my significance (or lack thereof) is debatable but one thing I know for sure: I matter to the people around me.
My brother needs me to help him with homework. My mom needs my help with doing the dishes. My dad (definitely) needs my help rereading his work emails for grammar errors.
I know that I have many roles to play in society. I am a daughter, a sister, a friend, a mentor, a student and much more. It is not just my responsibility- it is my privilege to fulfill these roles to the best of my abilities and to serve the people around me. That is why my life matters and that is why our lives matter.
I remember when I used to live my life like Plankton always trying to steal the recipe for a peaceful life. After many years of beautiful disasters, I finally came to the realization that peace comes within me. My life matter. If you ever crossed paths with me and ask “Why?”. My answer will always be “I matter because I love and I’m loved by people in my life”.
If you look at anything whether it be an endless skyscraper or a tiny little apple seed, it’s obvious that a higher power was involved with the creation of the world. The elaborate details that make up every tangible item let alone the concepts that run through our brain couldn’t have happened out of coincidence. A force of some sort, call it God or nature , decided to create us. Now maybe we aren’t born with our purpose taped across our chest, but every single one of us has one otherwise we wouldn’t exist. When you look at the world as a whole and see the wonders of what God made , it’s impossible to say that one of his children don’t matter. He created all of us with a purpose and therefore every life matters.
Many times people lie on their death beds and reminisce about all the moments they missed or all the moments they wish to live again. There seems to be a universal consensus that there is not enough time in life and it all goes by too fast. This is why our lives matter. Our lives matter because we are placed on this earth, for our limited time, to achieve something. That “something” is all independently determined, but each person’s “something” is equally important. Each person deserves to bring a little bit of their own light to this chaotic world. Without those sparks of light, this world would not be as we see it today. My life matters, your life matters, we all matter. It may not always feel that we can create a monumental change, but each of us has the ability to try and that is why each of us matters. Our power to try and achieve something great defines why each of us matters.
Why does my life matter? Growing up, I never knew the real answer. And I don’t think I even have an answer to give you. I haven’t lived life yet to the point where I know what my purpose in life is and why I am here. Living all these years til now, I am a young adult who has experienced painful and rewarding points in my life. I don’t know why I am here. I don’t know yet what I have to offer to this world, but I can give you a somewhat cohesive idea of why I may be here. I think everyone on this planet has a purpose. Some people are put on this world to make the world a better place, leave it better than how we found it. Some people are meant to leave it early because their light is too bright for the world. People will find their purpose and why they matter late in life, and some earlier than others. There’s no need to figure out so fast, live your life, follow your heart and pursue your dreams, and everything will fall in line. You matter in this world, in this life, and to me.
My life matters because I have a purpose, and the world would be different if I wasn’t here. Everything we do in this life has a ripple effect, no matter what you do your actions and existence have an effect. My life matters to my parents, sibling, friends, and creator. My life matters because I have to live up to my potential and help make a change in the lives of others for the better. I matter because I have loved and I am loved as well.
Growing up, I would hear the question “Why does my life matter?” thrown around constantly. It seems as if it is difficult to find reasons why at times because it’s a mind-boggling question. However, at the same time, it isn’t because there are so many reasons why our lives matter, why all lives matter. It is all about the small things that you don’t even realize have a positive impact on your surroundings. That smile you gave to a stranger? It reminded them that there are good people in the world. You watered your plant? It allowed that plant to flourish and bring more life into your home. You don’t always have to find your purpose in life. You don’t always need to know what you’re doing. You just need to remember that whatever you are doing it is enough and that it makes the world a better place. All our lives matter because we have so many things to experience. Simple experiences such as going to the mall, traveling the world, laughing with your best friend, getting married, etc. Your life matters because you are something beautiful that was brought into the world. I matter because I want to help people and eventually start my own nonprofit organization. We all have our reasons to live and why we matter but when you are unable to find it, look at the smaller things.
I always question if my life matters. What would it be like if I was not here? Would anyone miss me? Do I matter to someone? It is easy to look down on yourself and belittle the value of your life. But the truth is, I know I matter. I know that my being is valued and appreciated by my friends and family. I know that I help them every step of the way. I know my life matters.
No matter what anyone says, my life matters because I have a purpose. I want to be able to stand by my loved ones and help them through their adversities. I want to be able to make a difference in someone’s life. I want people to know that their lives matter.
Mattering is subjective.
When someone who is greater than you walks into the room you feel uncomfortable because you feel as if you don’t matter. And nobody wants to feel as if they don’t matter. It’s built into our DNA to matter to have purpose and when we don’t we are depressed and nothing “works.” So what is mattering and why do we want it so bad and why do we feel so inadequate when someone matters more than us. I’m not asking why in reference to human psychology I’m asking why it matters (literally and figuratively). Mattering really has to do with the creation of our identity. Our identity is what we create ourselves to be versus the situations we are put against. So really in essence we create what matters to us and not so much what actually matters necessarily. Because at the end of the day the only thing we have is the identity we have created and we have no idea which parts of that identity really matter or not. Unless we understand what real existence looks like because in essence that is what everyone is searching for to create themselves to be: real existence or matter. Most people sense what real existence is which is giving. And I’ll leave you with a question to ponder. Why is giving to another establishing more of our matter shouldn’t it be the other way around?
My life matters because I believe that I have the ability to impact the world and the environment around me. As an activist and a woman of color, I can and will use my voice to speak up against the injustices around me. Everyone has a voice and the power to advocate in our own ways, I intend on being an ally and apart of something bigger than I am to leave a positive influence.
I am only one of the over 7 billion people on this planet, which makes my life seem insignificant in the grand scheme of things. However, the question is “Why does MY life matter?” The question isn’t asking me to compare myself to others or to gauge how important I am to this world. At first, my response to this question was “I don’t know” but after some more thought I was able to come up with something. Each person has had their ups and downs in their life and I’m no different. I went through a particularly rough moment in my life where I questioned if my life was important. From this experience, I learned that my life matters because I have family and friends that care about me. I am somebody to these people. They love me and I love them. I am also my own person and there is nobody else on this planet that is exactly like me. I am energetic, generous, intelligent, and hard working. I am a daughter, a friend, a book lover, a runner, a fangirl, and so much more. I have so many things I want to do, experience, and accomplish. All these qualities give meaning to my life and that’s why my life matters.
Why does my life matter? Honeslty, i’m not able to answer that because I don’t know. I’m here like everyone else to try and make it in this big world. I’m just trying to get a degree, get a job, and settle down much like everyone else. Who knows if my path is already laid out or if my choices really do affect my future. My life matters because everyone’s does. Everyone has a purpose, it’s just a matter of time before we figure it out. Right now, I still don’t know my reason.
Our Lives Matter because of what’s inside. There’s so much more than skin and everything else on the outside. I mean, we all feel the same emotions – pain, guilt, fear, love, joy, anger. They may come in different forms and circumstances, but they come, and no one is ostracized from feeling each of those emotions in their lifetimes. Yes, we may see things differently because of our different experiences but we all experience the same emotions. We all have red blood, a nervous system, a respiratory system, a digestive system, and a heart that cues life and death through its beats and a soul that we cannot hear or see. My point is, our lives matter because we’re equal despite our differences, and we’re the only form of life as we know it in an incomprehensibly huge universe. In other words, we only have each other, the human race.
My life matters because it’ll make an imprint on the world. I hope in the next few years to go to med school and come out being a good doctor. I hope that I’m a good sister, a good daughter, a good friend. I feel that the good I do with this life will make an impact somehow, somewhere on someone, and make the world a bit better. I am apart of a revolutionary generation that’s dead set on righting the world, I think my life matters because I get to be apart of that army. My life matters because it has so much potential to do good even if it’s in the smallest ways.
I believe that our lives matter for the simple fact that as human beings living on earth we all have a purpose. Personally, I believe that my life matters because there is a particular “mission” that I must fulfill. Although I am not entirely sure on what this “mission” is, I believe that it surrounds the idea that you should leave the world better than you found it.
Our lives matter despite sexual orientation, skin color, race, identities, etc because we are all capable of doing great things and being great people. we all have an impact on the way the world works whether it be big or small.
“Why does your life matter?” Huh. This question is one that pushes you to search deep within yourself and take a gander at your character. Personally, I believe that my life matters because I aspire to become a significant contributor to society. My parents have, ever since I’ve known them, always made enormous sacrifices to ensure that me, my siblings and in many cases, the less fortunate, were comfortable and possessed dire necessities . I have watched, for over 16 years, two selfless people give their last dollars to help others, who needed it more than themselves. I’ve watched my parents tirelessly work to educate and mold young minds and aid the children under their academic care (They’re both teachers) in ways normal educators wouldn’t. That is what I grew up seeing, that is what is normal for me and that is my plan for my future. I won’t be a teacher, but I will try my hardest to ensure that I show compassion, sympathy, empathy and love to everyone I meet, especially young children. I would love to have a community club or something of that nature, where I would bring together children of all different walks of life and impart on them, important wisdom they will need in order to succeed in life and mold a better society. My goal in life is to make a difference; to make society a little more habitable for some and to ensure that everyone and I mean EVERYONE is ensured that they are important, they are valued and they too can and should try to make a difference in society. I want to educate the public on the detrimental effects of discrimination and how we can create a world where everyone is considered equal and the playing fields are level for all, regardless of skin color, nationality, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identification or economic status.
Why does my life matter? That’s a question I ask myself everyday, wondering if there might ever be an answer. I’m not sure I know exactly how to answer that question right now, but I do know I’ll be able to answer it in the near future. One day I want my life to matter because I’ll make an exceptional mom. It’s always the mother’s that are blessed with a daughter, but never a daughter that is blessed with a mom. A mother and a mom are two different things to me, I’ve always had a mother but I’ve never had a mom. I’ve had someone that would feed me because she had to, buy me clothes because she had to, but I’ve never had someone who I could eat dinner with, talk about life with, share my happiness and sadness with, I’ve never had a mom. I love my mom, I really do, but she wasn’t the person I needed or expected her to be, but that’s not her fault because life dealt her a bad deck of cards. They say blood is thicker than water, but sometimes I wonder if I would love the people I do if we weren’t related. If my family became strangers, I’m not sure I could say for sure that I would love them from the bottom of my heart. I want to be someone important to my future kids, not because we’re related by blood, but because they would choose to love me even if we didn’t share the same DNA. I want to create a home where my children feel safe talking to me, I want to build a place that they come home to because they want to and not because they have to. I want to work hard, and be there for my kids the way my mother was never able to, I want my life to matter to them.
It’s important to always claim that your life matter and the lives of those in your community matter as well. ALL lives have meaning, all demographics should be heard, and all people should be visible. By being seen, and being heard (not just listened to), greater conversations can be had, and then, a certain level of understanding will happen. My life matters because my life is so much more than mine: the decisions that I make have an effect on more people than just myself.
My younger self wouldn’t even know how to answer this question. Instead I would question myself, Does my life really matter? There are already a lot of people doing big things. Then I came a cross a quote that says, ” Many small people, in small places doing small things can change the world.” This made me realize that everyone is needed to chip in for a greater good. My life matters because I believe I have great potential and work effort to bring an impact to the world. My life matters because there can only be one version of myself. My life matter because I’m yet to learn and grasp in my career field; try and do better. My life matters because I am destined for greatness hoping to empower the younger generation and give them hope for better.
All lives matter. We all are one, don’t matter what race, gender, or religion. We all are human beings and should be treated respectfully and equally, regardless of our color. Nobody is perfect, we all make mistakes but we’ll all have a vision in life. Everyone one was born with a purpose in life’s, even if it’s bad or good. Everyone lives can’t be the same but everyone lives matters.
Why does my life matter ? My life matters because I am unique, my differences makes up for what the world needs. No one can take my place let alone do for the world what I can do. There is a purpose for me being here. I was put on the earth to make an impact on other people lives because I am unique. Without me being here, the world would be missing an important part of it , me. Therefore my life matters.
All lives matter, every individual has a purpose in this world no matter how big or small that purpose is, and in this world acceptance is a really big thing and many people hide their purpose because of not feeling wanted. My life matters because my purpose is to help others that struggle with their identity, and help children that suffer with any form of disability believe that they can be someone, and no matter what they will make the world a better place.
Our lives matter because we all are born with a purpose. Nobody is born with no purpose in life and everyone is destined with success it just take yourself to make that effort. Everyone should live to see their life change year after year and learn from everything they have went through. Our Life is more precious than you would imagine and your dream is what you put into reality and no one should stop you from doing what you want to do. Living life to the fullest is what matters the most and leaving the world better than how you found it is the key to your success and that is why all of our lives matter the most.
Our lives matter because everyone plays a role in the society to change the future. Making our future better and better. Every choices could effect how the future will become.
Why does my life matter? To be honest, I don’t know. Maybe we came to this world with a certain mission, or maybe we are here to learn a lesson that we could not pass in the previous incarnation, etc.? You never know. I think that it is possible if my life goes in a positive direction (being sincere and honest, living in harmony with nature, living in good conscience, etc.), then the world around will change as well.
My life matters because I have things that I know I am here to accomplish . I will be successful I know that I will be . I feel that everyone was out on this earth for a reason. Without us women there wouldn’t be any kids being made . There’s always a purpose .
It is so important that especially during this time, we all acknowledge that everyone’s life matters. We are all being affected by this difficult time and we all must stick together in any way we can to come out of this stronger. Every life that is lost during this tragedy is a beautiful, important, and worthy soul that is mourned and has an impact on all of us. We need to uplift, celebrate, and encourage each other every day.
I am 19 years old in my first year of college and psychology is my major. At many moments I question if this is really what I want to do with my life and does it matter. It came to a point where I was doubting myself a lot, grades started falling, and I became lazy with everything. However took me some time to realize that Psychology is what I want to do and that I needed to pull myself together. My life and everything else does matter because making the best out of yourself is only going to uplift you and make you more confident in anything you do. I want to be able to get where I want to be in life and be able to help others who maybe in the same place that I was and this is why my life matters.
There was a point in my life where I wasn’t motivated to do anything. I didn’t have a job, my grades in classes were falling and I didn’t care. At the moment I just felt like there was no point because I wasn’t completely sure if I even wanted to be a Psychologist and help people with their life problems. A big question that I had for myself all the time was how would I be able to help someone else if I can’t help myself and already know what I want to do with my life like most students already know when they come to college. I was getting overwhelmed with work and all the big amounts of loans that I took out to attend college. However I think that’s what made me snap out of it and realize my life does matter and every action I take does as well. If I’m paying money to go to college, how about I make something out of it, because I know if I wasn’t attending school and didn’t have a job either I would just be wasting my time and before I tried to fix anything it would be too late. My life matters because by taking my psychology major and becoming a psychologist I will be able to help others who may have been in the same position I was in and that young person can be a great doctor who finds a cure for something in the future. Since then I got a job and still have some improvement in some classes to make but there has definitely been progress..
All lives matter on this earth. I believe young and older people have potential to bring about change to this world or community, Both young people and older people. My live matters because I have a gift and I have a lot to accomplish in life. And there’s a lot that I want to do in life, such as getting a good future job as well as becoming that cardiologist doctor I want to become so badly. I also want to obtain my Bachelors degree and go to medical school. My life is prominent at this moment because I’m a gifted human being with potential to obtain a lot of things in my life. It’s not just my life that is prominent, young people’s lives are also prominent at this moment, because they play a big role in this changing world.
No matter how your day goes, the sun always rises the next day. “Success might manifest overnight, but years of preparation preceded it.” Nothing in this life lasts forever. When you drop your defenses and become genuine, some people will walk away.
Ambition and creativity are lifelong journeys, so your life matters regardless of your age.
Every stage of life has its inherent strengths. The stage of life you are in right now is meaningful even if it feels like a slump.
You might not think you are a leader, but everyone has the ability to influence another
I Agree. Ambition and creativity are lifelong journeys.
My life matters. I and many other people know we matter because we know we are meaningful to someone. We live to set examples and create rules, contribute to life-changing innovations and so on. But if we all have the same purpose then why are we all here? Each one of us is in charge of a different kind of meaning, we set different rules and get a different idea every day. For me, I matter because I exist. Regardless of what I contribute to this world, I am human and I have a life to keep, therefore I do many things for the better of me and others. Our life matters.
~ Why my life matters? Honestly, I don’t know! When I graduated from high school, I decorated my graduation cap with the phrase, “BORN TO MAKE HISTORY!” But was I really born to make history. All my life I felt like an outcast, like I never fully belonged to this society. I struggled growing up, I never liked to show my true emotions, or how I was feeling, it was always covered up by a smile. I am the type of person who makes everyone around me feel safe and happy, but never myself. My life matters because I matter! I know that I am made to be apart of something bigger, something better. I just have to wait, and patience is the key in my life! I matter most to my family, my parents supporting me 100%, my siblings always teaching me life lessons. Yes, we struggle, but who doesn’t, life is not made to be easy. I matter because I want to make a change, I want to be the best role model to my nieces and nephews. I want to be the best daughter that I can be. In the future I want to be the best wife/mother/grandmother that I can be. I want to matter! I DO MATTER~
Throughout my teenage years I began to have mixed feelings about myself. I felt that my life did not matter for various reasons. When you’re young you don’t really think much into why you are here, you just think about fun, the basics rules and necessities of your life, as you have someone to teach you and look after you, and support you all throughout. I finally realized that I let all my troubles, and in the moment hardships, memories, and feelings get the best of me. I realized that my life does matter, my life matters for the simple fact that I had been brought into this world. To me, my life matters because I am the only person who can live my life. I am only me, no one else can face everything an individual goes through if it isn’t their shoes. To me my life matters because from birth, I am basically a “miracle baby”, I’ve faced hardships since birth and will continue to for the rest of my life, whether myself personally or with others. I also was suppose to face hardships that i have overcame and proved others wrong. I also feel that my life matters because I have dreams that need to be accomplished, i want to be a early educator. I want to impact the future generation, the young and developing minds. I want to take care of my mom just like she takes care of me. Everyone’s live matters. My life matters. Everyone can have a different impact on others whether its friendship, relationship, family. I personally feel that my life matters because everyone has a purpose, even if you may not have a miraculous life, the way you are as a being can effect someone else. Everyone I have come to know, has tremendously been shocked as to my personality and how I am. I’m too generous, kind, forgiving, etc. As I know how I am I can’t have a change to heart. Society at times, does get to me and i try not to let that affect who i am. To know that people see nothing but good in me makes me feel like I do matter. Life to me is to be lived adventurous and loving until the day you are 6 ft in the ground. Once you are brought into this world, you matter, there’s a reason for it.
My life matters as much as others. Particularly, my life matters because I am a mindful mother of 2 great boys, a responsible wife and liable healtcare worker. In matter-of-fact, I am trying to keep on track and not fall behind from all of this. Coming to this country as an accountant I changed my profession to medical major cause I like to help people in need. So I would say,I have a long mission to be completed. Of course, I understand that everyone came to this world with a mission, and Everyone should complete it.
My life matters because I have dreams in my eyes and hope in my blood. I strive hard every day to walk down a path filled with inconveniences and uncertainty. I struggle to get to a point where I can play my part in saving and improving the quality of others’ lives. I want to inspire and be one of those who rise by lifting each other up.
Why does my life matter? it is a very good question. I thought about this question a lot. My life matter because I want to help people and do something great for my family and for this society. My life matters because I can make the future better. Not only my life matter, every single life in this whole world matter to make this a better place. At first, when I saw this question, I kept asking my self this question and I could not think about anything. But when I dig deeper I found my answer You can write a book on this question because everyone has different answers to this question and react differently. For my life matters because I want to do something that makes society a better place and help people around me.
My life matters because I have a contribution to make to the world, even if I’m not sure what is. The small things I do have a bigger positive effect that I know. I want to make a difference in the world and perhaps it’s not easy and requires a lot of effort but I can make a difference to my family, friends and people who care about me and love me. My life matters because of my goals and my purpose. I believe we have a unique role and our potential for growth is unlimited.
Why does my life matter? It’s hard to pick a reason why our lives matter. Our day to day lives can become repetitive and boring, but there’s always a reason why our lives matter, even when we don’t see it right away. I believe that my life matters because of my plans for the future and my family. I come from a very large Italian family who is very close, and they give me the strength to work hard every day. Af far as my future, I am an engineering major with the hopes of creating something that will positively impact the world. With an interest in civil and environmental engineering, I plan to aid in creating a safe and healthy environment. This to me is why my life matters.
My life matters because I want to make a difference in the world, and make the world a better place.
Our lives matter. We may not know what we are on earth for, but I believe it is to make a difference in the world. It can be something small like planting a tree or starting a movement that can change the world. For me, the way I want to make a difference is by working in health IT. Although people working in health IT do not work directly with patients, they indirectly help patients by helping the hospital (Ex: improving the hospital’s system).
All lives matter, because everyone has something to offer the world. I know that my actions and accomplishments don’t need to be big in order to change the world for the better, it could be something as simple as holding the door for someone. Everyone has impacted the world in some way or another, and without each other we wouldn’t have grown to be where we are today.
Our lives matter because we find our place in the world where we are needed or, where our fate lies and we try to make a difference in the lives of people around us one step at a time. No matter what race, religion, gender or ethnicity someone is, they will always have some ability to help create change. Whether you are a lawyer or even a podiatrist, you help make a difference even the slightest bit and even the smallest things have a big impact. I want to help make a lasting impact on our world so that others may follow my footsteps and one day maybe even help make an even bigger change in society. My life matters, I can help make a difference and no one can say otherwise.
My life matters because of my family and friends. At home my younger siblings need me to take care of them and I keep all my friends together. My relationships and ambitions give me a purpose.
My life matters because I am a daughter, a friend, a girlfriend, a cousin, and most of all, a human being with value and a purpose. I have so much left to do. Find my passions, pursue my dreams in my career and personal life, spread my love and light to others, and leave an impact on the world that is irreversible. The people who love me appreciate my existence and want me here. Even without those people, I know my value as a woman and a human. I am important. I am loved. I matter.
All of our lives matter. Many people would believe that their voices will never be heard, so they never try. They believe this because they are one in billions of people, but that is why they matter. They are each individually unique. My life matters because of the struggles i had to get to this point. I might not know what my purpose is, but when i do find out, I hope others would do the same, because they all matter.
My life matters because I make a difference in the world every day whether it be with something on a larger scale like volunteering in my community or helping my younger siblings with work. My life matters because I affect the people and the atmosphere around me. The interactions we hold between each other show that we all affect each other proving that all our lives matter.
All lives matter.
No one in this world is perfect. Every imperfection we have is our uniqueness that defines who we are. Don’t let anyone think you don’t matter if you don’t live up to their expectations. Be your own person and take pride in who you are. Leave your print on this world and be someone that gives encouragement to others that may need it.
My life matters to me because my friends and family have done and risked everything they can for me to be in the position I am as a student and as a person. Without them I do not know where I would be now.
It’s difficult to finding meaning in life when you are surrounded by hundreds of people, each with their own story and their own life to live. Life can seem meaningless, day in and day out continuing with the same things, but it’s in that bleakness that we find meaning. Our friends, our connections, our hobbies, the things and people we love – they all bring meaning to our life. My life matters because I have individuals who count on me and who I know will support me, people who love me and wish the best for me. My life matters because I have goals, and as someone who is very determined, I want to be able to achieve those goals; whether those goals be academic or personal. There are so many things to strive to, so many things to do in this world. It’s important to find meaning in everything you do, and I’m very lucky to be able to do so.
I believe all lives matter because (just like me) everyone wants to be something in life. I want to be an important figure in someone’s and be able to be financially stable so I can provide for my family also. One important thing I always wanted to do is give back to my mom because she has always been my number 1 supporter and I know she has many sacrifices for me.
Our lives matter because everything we do has an impact in the world. It can be something major, or something really small, but what matters is that we made an impact. This impact can affect the lives of others, in any shape, way, or form. When it comes to family and friends for example, we all have an impact on their lives, which could be one reason as to why our lives matter. Another example of why our lives are important could be the fact that we are destined to change the world for the better, or at least try to, and this is how every single one of us become meaningful to the world and the universe around us.
Our lives matter because as specks we make a bigger picture that leads to the ultimate destiny of mankind. Our lives and decisions affect the lives of others, not just human, but every living or non living thing. Every service or product we add helps someone else achieve a certain task. We don’t just live to work but to enjoy our existence. But I guess if we don’t matter then ultimately nothing does.
My life matters to me because I have to make my family proud. Sometimes when life is tough it’s ok because I have a good support system of friends and family. I want to make an impact in this world
Why do my life matter? I mean why shouldn’t it matter? Does your life matter? All lives matter. Who’s to say what another person can contribute to society and to another person. What I do or say to you may not matter to another but may mean a whole lot to you.
My life matters to me because when life feels tough I continuously persevere. I don’t give up, I will always fight for my believes. I have a family , my friends, and my dog that I need to be there for. I want to make this world a better place and that may be hard but I can make simple changes by waking up everyday with an optimistic mindset.
I wanted to talk about why I feel that my life matters. I feel that my life matters because of my hopes, dreams, ambitions, my family, my friends, etc. I believe my life matters because their so much more that I want to do in life than just be stuck in some classroom. I want to help people. I want to help bring a life to people they may necessarily have never had. All that I hope to do in life is guide people down roads I never went down growing up, show that it is okay to take a challenge, to take risks, to live life fully. I aspire to inspire, before life tells me it is time to expire, that is why I believe my life matters.
My life matters because I am able to create my own ideals and morals and work towards them to build the personality that will shape the impactful individual I will grow to be. My life matters because it’s full of experiences and I’m in control as to whether it can strengthen me or allow myself to be vulnerable to it. I’m full with a lot of ideas to share and impact others in their own path of growth. My life matters because my progression builds who I am and how this will effect the world around me.
Why does my life matter, why does anyones lives matter? Our lives matter because we are all here for a reason and we are all here to make a difference and to make an impact, whether its in the world or someone else’s life. We may not know it or realize it but every little thing we do or say has an effect on the world and on the people around us, you can say one encouraging thing to someone and that can instill the confidence that they need to try new things and they can be so good at something they never thought was possible that they can continue with it and eventually change the world. I believe that nobody should be judged based on their race, religion or gender. Everyone in this world is the same if we just learned to look past that and learn to love each other for our differences not to hate each other for it this world would be so much more accepting of our differences.
Why does my life matter? I ask myself this question a lot. U see, I was brought on in a family full of ambitious people. My grandfather was a farmer but because of his hard work he became a sherif in the police department. In a place where girls did not even know how to read, my aunt became a nurse. In a place where Albanians were not allowed to get a degree, why father became a teacher. I believe that because of my hard work, my life does matter. Even if I don’t become as successful as I want to become, I believe that the courage to follow my dreams will inspire people, and that’s why my life matters.
All lives matter, Including mine. I strongly believe that there is a purpose for everyone in this big world. My life matters because, I feel like I am capable of giving, teaching, loving and inspiring. My purpose is to make a difference in the world by teaching, little kids who have no idea how big and scary the world may be. To prepare them with kindness, integrity, and knowledge. My life matters as I am a daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. My role within those categories is special and I know that I’m loved. My family is my motivation and they give me the push I need to strive and reach my goals.
Why does my life matter, Well I believe every life matters. If you were put on this earth there was a reason for it. Whether it be for good or unfortunately bad. Nobody should be targeted or oppressed because of their race religion or gender. I believe everyone is equal and should be treated equally. No race religion or gender should be put above the rest. ” I’m not saying Im gonna change the world, but I guarantee that I will spark the brain that will change the world”- Tupac Shakur. That is why I believe my life matters.
I believe my life matters because I was born for a reason. In fact, I believe everyone was born for a reason. I believe that my life matters because I can help my community and help our society. In my life, I have so many people who care for me as I care for them. I picture myself in the future as a father, uncle and grandfather. Our lives are so precious that every second counts. Every life on Earth is important as we can help make the world a better place.
I believe everyone’s life matters not only mine. Everyone in this world is here for one particular reason and it takes your drive and interests to show your reason behind being born. I think my life matters because I want to make a difference with the entertainment industry and become a successful director in film and an editor of TV/movies. I hope to bring joy to people across the world no matter who are where they are. My life also matters because of my family and friends. I feel important when I’m with my family and I always get pushed to do great things and I want to make the people closest to me proud and prove anyone who doubts me wrong.
My life matters because I am a brilliant and unconventional woman. Because I think and experience life in a way that no one can. Because im part of the generation creating a future that is equal and just and beautiful.
My life matters because I have human rights and potential. I live and breathe and make choices, and so I have the potential to make those around me feel valued and appreciated. I matter because of the good I can do.
Life matters. Having a purpose or developing one as we move on with our daily hassles is part of the journey. Our lives matters means everyone. It does not mean a specific gender, race, religion, or culture.
One of the most important things to me is making a difference in other peoples’ lives. My life matters because I want to be a reason why other people smile when they’re having a bad day or something to lean a helping hand whenever they reach out. I have dreams and aspirations that I hope to make an impact on the world one day, no matter how big or small. Hopefully I can crack a joke and make you smile. 🙂
My life matters because I have the ability to help the world and support my family. My family wants me to achieve the dreams that they didn’t achieve when they were younger because they didn’t have the opportunity. I have dreams of my own and I want to my family proud.
My life matters because Ithere is only one of myself and since everyone is an individual it makes me special.
My life matters because I have friends, peers, classmates and a family, who I interact with on a daily basis. My decisions, actions, words and attitudes towards them impact them—no matter if it’s in a big or small way. My friends and family care for my well-being and wish for the best for me and my endeavors, like I do with them.
In addition, I have accumulated a multitude of experiences and memories that I have grown to cherish, and there are multiple things that I wish to accomplish in the future. As long as I have these things, my life matters not only to me, but to others as well.
My life matters because my family depends on me.
My life matters because everyone is made for a reason. We are all put on this earth to make a big impact and make a change in this world. I believe my life matters because one day I am going to be one of those people who make a change in the world or wherever I am in life. It also matters in some ways because my family does believe in me and does expect me to make a change and an impact and I can’t let the people down who love me. I also believe if my life didn’t matter I wouldn’t be here today, everyone is made because they matter and there’s a reason for them to be alive and do what they need to do on this earth including me.
My life matters because I defeated every obstacle put in front of me and it is in my destiny to accomplish all of my goals. I survived poverty, childhood trauma and illness. I will not let anything hold me back from being the best version of myself. I will continue to think positive and live stress free because when you believe your life matters you will protect your heart and put yourself first. Your reality is a reflection of what you believe you deserve. When you think highly of yourself and treat yourself like royalty your reality will reflect it back on you. I don’t just think my life matters, I know my life matters.
My life matters because I was put on this Earth for a reason. We should all be able to live our lives happily and to the fullest. There’s enough room on this planet for all of us to live together in peace.
My life matters because I have a purpose. It matters because I am a strong, educated, and independent woman who is on this earth to make a difference and to fight for my rights. I am able to help others in need and to give open arms to anyone who needs a friend. My life matters because I am a human, and we all deserve to have a life that matters.
I believe that my life matters because i am on this planet to make some kind of impact. Hopefully one day i could look back at my life and be able to say that truly made a change in someone else life or even in society as a whole. My goal is to be remembered by something good i did.
My life matter because I believe what I have done and what I am going to do affect other people. I know each of us is just a tiny part of this world, but if we all be kind and do good things, this world will be much more better and beautiful!
My life matters because I’m here. I breath. I exist. I have hopes and dreams. I have goals to achieve. I live for that and that’s my purpose. I was made for a reason and I have to find that reason…my life matters because I believe so.
Why does my life matter? It’s a question that not many people get to sit down and ponder on. The world is constantly changing as we live, and now more fast paced than ever. New technology is being produced quicker than ever. People are always striving to obtain higher positions in the corporate ladder. We seek validation of ourselves through the minds of other people; we get that dopamine rush whenever we get a like or comment on a photo. Truth to be told, our species is always aiming for more, but when are we ever really satisfied? How hard would it be for us to take a minute, look at ourselves in the mirror, and say we’re enough?
The moment I looked at my reflection and said I was enough meant my life mattered. My life matters to me because of my “why” and the impact of it. For me, it’s about passing down the torch to the next generation and finding ways how I can use my experiences and knowledge to help other people. It’s about leading the current and future generation towards an active and self-aware life, not just sleepwalking through it. Supporting those through hardships and seeing their ease after it is personally way more fulfilling than a new iPhone.
My life matters because I want to inspire and carry on the courtesy of making this world a better place than it was before.
My life matters because I believe there’s a reason why my life exists. Everyone’s life is just a process, but different people will go through different processes. This process is their most exciting part in the life. I believe that I will create my most beautiful process.
A person is smaller than even a point of a needle on a map. I am not a pessimist, but I am a realist and in my eyes, I know my life does not matter to the rest of the 7.53 billion people in the world, because they do not know me and I have not made an impact on their lives to the point where my life would matter. However, to me, my life matters because if I were to disappear, the few very important people in my life would care. It takes just one person to give you love and support and make you feel as if you have a purpose in life. Once you start believing that you can become something and impact even one person, then life starts to matter, because now you have goals, no matter how broad or specific those goals may be. My life matters because of my family and my friends, especially my little sister, for whom I would do anything. My life matters because my loved ones matter to me.
My life matters because people cherish me and people in this world need me to be successful. For example my little sister, I help her with her homework and tell her about different scenarios that could happen so she wouldn’t get caught in the trap. I’m basically her role model and without my guidance and protection I don’t think she would’ve grew up the same way.
My life matter because I am an amazing wonderful person who try my best to make the world a better place and even “better than I left it”. Words from which a wise person once told me. That’s the key to life she said and as a human being my goal is carry out this task. without me in this world I don’t know what the people I encounter on a everyday basis and the people I would meet in the future would do without me i’m not there to make their lives better so that’s why my life matter.
My life matters because all our lives matter.
My life matter because I am alive today. There are about 7 billion people in the world that walk among earth everyday the idea of existing is significant . Everyone lives matter but why does my life matter in my opinion? I believe that my life matter because I have the ability to help others and I love to see the excitement on people’s faces when I have accomplished that daily goal of helping them. So my life matters to pursue others and help them when its necessary.
Life is defined by Dictionary.com as the sum of the distinguishing phenomena of organisms, especially metabolism, growth, reproduction, and adaptation to environment.
That means our lives regardless of what we do with them hold value. It’s what we do with our lives that determine its quality. A person’s experiences marks them and determines what they do going forward reinforcing moral values already possessed or changing how they act in the future.
I believe that the life that matters the most is the one in which while indulging in personal pleasures from time to time you try to change the world for the better so those that come after get a chance to live a greater life than you and hopefully continue the cycle again and again till the end of time.
My life matters because, just like everyone else, I’m a human being. I have rights and I have a specific duty in my community and I do my part. Which is go to school, learn and help others if I need to. I want to be able to help people who need my help, anybody who needs someone to talk to, I’m here.
My life matter because it’s the only one that I have everybody else is already taken, so I have to appreciate all that I am and the mark; that I leave in this world while am still breathing,I also have to look at the moral aspect of it and the incredible things that I have learnt and achieve along the way, some I would not want to revisit, others have molded me and reconditioned me,to have better insight about what my purpose is,what I want to accomplish, what i’ve yet to accomplish.
My live matter at Baruch, for instance I’m someone who is attending baruch to get a education,so I can better my self in America, a student should not have to ask, his or her self, if I’m in the right college, this is America the land where your dream come true, and college should be a place of fun and enjoyment.
My life matters!! I have purpose and a reason to be on this earth just like everyone else. God does not make mistakes he had a reason for making everyone the way they are giving them life and the ability to make a change.
My life matters because I have to make a change in this crappy world. Colonizers have damaged it so badly, I feel like I have to try and help build back African culture to my black people. I want to help black people feel beautiful in their skin and in their hair. It’s my duty to reproduce and teach my future children the same things that I think and have a mindset just like mine.
My life matters because why shouldn’t it. Does my life mattering depend on how I look, who I am as a person or the significant things I do in my life? My life matters because I believe it does, I believe I’m supposed to be here just like everyone else, I’m meant to be here just like everyone else. It’s not up to anyone to determine whether someone’s life matters or not. It also does not matter who believes I matter or not, as long as I know I matter, that automatically makes me unstoppable.
I’m the first to attend college in my family. Being the first to attend college in the family I’m like a role model and I need to set a great Example for others. My life matters because I have family who are waiting for me to finish college and make them proud. My life matters because I’m inspiring, teaching, and living a pleasing life to my family. With God on my side I know everything will be accomplished. I just can’t wait to make myself and my family proud.
My life matters because I haven’t made a mark on the world yet. I have a healing aura and a free-spirit and people tend to look to me for answers, and reassurance. I make people feel good about themselves, and always reassure them to never give on what their goals. I also have a lot of potential and a lot to live up too in life, especially at a young age. I have to create my own path to success and teach the future generation what I know and for them to branch off even better. I know that great rewards are awaiting me within the future and I can’t wait.
I am a peculiar person, my life is meaningful, I have much to offer to this world much more to achieve. My family needs me the universe needs me.
There may come a time when we think to ourselves “Does my life even matter?” However this thought is quite wrong as Our Lives Matter. There is only one of each one of us in this world and only we can bring about the change we would want to see .We all have a unique role to play in the grand design of the order of things. We all have a duty to make a positive change in this world and to leave this world better than how we entered it.
My life matters because I am human just as anybody else is. I’m here to make a difference in the world and to hopefully make good changes in the world for next generations to come. As humans, no matter what we do, we impact others whether we want to or not. I plan on going into the Psychology field in order to help people in need of working on their mental state. I want to help people realize that their lives matter and that they are as important as everyone else.
Lives matter because each person contributes to society. Each contribution equates to a purpose and a difference. Everyone as something valuable to offer.
Our lives Matter, not simply because we are told it does, but the mere fact that we are alive, moving, breathing, impacting the lives of others in some way or another proves that our lives matter.
What then does it mean to say that our lives matter, to fully understand this statement we must review the meaning of the main words in this discussion.
According to the online LEXICO Dictionary, powered by Oxford;
Our: Belonging to or associated with people in general.
Lives: plural of life, The existence of an individual human being or animal.
Matter: (of a person)(to) be important or influential.
This being said /understood we clearly note that our existence is one of a kind, since none of us are ever completely the same we therefore bring something valuable to each given society, be it in what we say, do, invent, or even fight for. Like in the instance of any given Election, numbers hold great power, each one means another. As in a family we all contribute uniquely to its success or improvement, bringing our unique gifts of insight, financial stability, happiness or hope for a next generation etc…
As *Newton’s Third Law of Physics states, to every action there is a (equal and opposite) reaction,
Everything we do in life impacts the people next to us, indirectly the people not close to us and inevitably the next generation, and the generations to come, so yes without a doubt and a great big shout our lives matter.
Our lives matter in how we interpret and apply yesterday’s history to our present life and the way we use or present life to impact tomorrow and our future.

In our Universe there are 100 billion other galaxies and, in our galaxy, the milky way there are another 100 billion planets. I am just 1 of 7.7 billion other people on this planet. So, why does my life matter? I matter because I am capable of inspiring, teaching, and loving. I am part of a story greater than life itself and although my actions may seem minimal I know that every choice I make is a new line filling a single page in the library of the world. This single page will affect every other page after mine. I want to make my mark, one that is filled with happiness and productivity. The likelihood of even being born was 1 in 400 trillion and I was given a chance to make a difference.
Adelina,
That was one of the most beautiful things I have ever read. I hope many people get to read those words. I have no doubt that you will make a difference in this world. Thank you for sharing that powerful insight with me, and with the world at large!
My life matters because I’m fighting for social justice while also facilitating some fun and laughter along the way.
Author
Greetings,
Kimberly, thank you for reminding us that as we pursue our goals, and fight for what we believe in, it is alright to have some laughter and fun along the way!
My life matters because God does not make mistakes. I have a purpose, several purposes, and as a member of society, as a friend, as a family member, and as a person I am here for a reason. I am working on accomplishing and finding out more about those purposes everyday.
Author
Greetings,
Cristen, I agree with your post whole-heartedly! I love the thought that finding out why our lives matter is an every day exercise. Here is to the journey!
There are a lot of great posts in here.
Our lives definitely matter, even if we do not see it sometimes. We could be that person that is able to inspire and help others without even knowing it. We all come with our own unique talents and abilities that can contribute to making a better world to live in no matter our race, gender, religion or social status. We all have a chance to be that person to make a difference and to do something extraordinary.
Author

As a African American woman I know my life matters to me because I know that one day soon in the near future that I would be finished school and one day be able to help others and help my family especially with everything going on in the world today it is very important to me that I rise above and better myself for my family and myself most importantly. My life matters to me because I was put here to make a difference and leave this world better than I found it.

My life matters because i’m a person who has to a lot to achieve and a lot to learn. My life matters because i have a family who loves me and do anything to keep me happy and contented. It matters because i have dreams to fulfill and make my parents proud. I have unique role to play in this world, some which i don’t even know of yet. My life matters since the day i came to this world because god put me in this world for a certain reason. It’s not just my life that matters. it’s everybody’s. Every person’s life matters and everyone’s life should.

I believe my life is matter is because I am unique. I believe that there is no one is made in this earth like me. I believe I am the only one who see this world ever. I know sometimes that feels difficult for me to think, that no one can relate to me but that is just a sign that there is something in me that can change the world for the better. My struggles are different, but so are my talents.
Author
Greetings,
Juma, you are indeed unique! I am glad that you know there is something inside of you that can make this world better. Never lose that knowledge. It is my hope that you will be able to discover all of your many talents.
like every single breathing individual in the world, my life matters. Every human being, good or bad, in a way or another, participates in giving sense to the world. We all were born equal; therefore, my life, your life, his and her life matters
Author
Greetings,
Loty, what beautiful words! I love the thought of everyone “giving sense to the world.” You have proven to yourself that you will persevere until you accomplish your goals. You have a poet’s soul. Keep making this world of ours better.
My life matter because i have to be here for my children guidance, to be a doctor so i can save people lives, and to help people who need my help.

Why my life matters, it matters because I’m tomorrows hope for the future. It matters because I’m the son of a wonderful mother, it matters because I’m the father of a soon to be born child.
Author
Greetings,
Luis, during our semester you were respectful to all who were in our class, and you were a light that shone brightly. I am sure you will share that light with your child, and be a wonderful father.
My live matters because there are things I have learned that I need to teach. There are things that I still need to accomplish. I have the ability to choose what I want to do with my live. Every day that I’m in this world, I gain more experience and knowledge that I can used to help my community. My live matters because the pain I have suffers has help me grow as an individual. My live matters because I yearn for something better and that motivates me to keep pursuing my dreams.
Author

My life matters because I feel that I have a lot in life to live up to. I feel that even at my age I have so much more to live for instead of just living in a nutshell. I am full of life and promise when it comes to living, I have things that I want to accomplish and get done because I know that I am on a path of greatness. I want to be something in life and do so much for other people, I don’t want to just living my life and do absolutely nothing. I want people to remember me and my legacy.

Greetings,
Karon, having had the privilege of being your ENG 112 instructor, I am fully confident that you will do great things during your lifetime. You are motivated, and self-aware. You also have great respect for those around you. I am looking forward to seeing where life’s journey takes you!
Greetings,
Vanessa, amazing post! I am sure it will resonate with many students. I agree with you that we need to value our individuality and not live our lives seeking to please others. Powerful. Keep the movement going!
My life matters because I don’t need anyone else to tell me it does. I know so. That is the attitude that I believe everyone should have in order to be a truly liberated individual from our political, cultural, and social influences. If we try to find our identity in none other than ourselves, we start to rely on outside factors that cloud our own meaning for our existence in this world. While contributing to and forming good relationships with society is a good thing, I encourage people to first be in a good relationship with themselves so they won’t be easily swayed by any political, cultural, or social factors without thinking first. I like to think that I don’t live or struggle for anyone else none other than myself. People need to find their own individuality or we will all just be cattle blindly following because it’s conventional. We all have a voice, use it.
Incredible to hear the different stories and backgrounds from everyone involved. Inspired by Our Lives Matter and can’t wait for this group to grow to it’s full potential! Everyone apart of this should be very proud.
Greetings,
What a great thought Ryan! I am proud to be a part of this movement. By the way, one of the reasons my life matters is that I have the privilege of teaching amazing students like you!
I believe that our lives matter in this world, because not only we change the world, but we also grow as a society. Every individual in this world changes world. As a person my life does matter, because I have lots of people depending on me and my dreams. My family is always telling me to do well in school and to get better job than they have. All the time society changes and everyone life matter and we people need to stay together in order to have peace in this world and not to harm others.
Greetings,
What a positive mindset! Your family sounds very supportive. I totally agree that each individual has the power to change the world. I just hope they change it for the positive, not the negative. Keep up the good work!
I am currently taking philosophy class and I am enlightened to the meaning of life and why it matters. Famous philosopher Aristotle came to the conclusion that achieving perfect happiness is the end goal of life. I believe everyone deserves a chance to reach this goal. We are all deigned and programmed to follow this virtuous path that Aristotle had thought of. We are all capable to achieve happiness so there for my life matters, his life matters, her life matters and your life matters .
Greetings,
I am so glad that a Philosophy class inspired you in this way! I agree, everyone should have the chance to reach their goals. Great post!
I believe my life matters cause i haven’t fully made my life what I want it to be as of yet i have a lot more to do with it. I want to leave something behind that shows that my life had a reason and a meaning. I want to make a change in this world even if it something small at lease it was something.
I believe that our lives matter for the simple reason that we all leave a mark on this world. In some way each of those marks are important. Everything we do impacts someone else, whether its something small or something grand. I want to become a nurse so that I can help the ill ,that’ll be my mark on the world. Someone told me that I should leave the world better than I left it and that’s what I intend to do.
All lives matter. I believe we all have gifts embedded in us to make the world a better place by a supreme being. My life matters because I am determined to find and utilize my many gifts to make the world a better place. My life matters because I want to see change and be a part of the change. My life matters because I am a wife, mother, a sister, an aunt, niece and a granddaughter. My life matters because I don’t just want to be good at what I do, but I need to be great. My life matters because when I am no longer on this earth, I want to be remembered for making a change.
All lives matter because everyone is given an opportunity to bring change to injustices in the world. Even if its small things , anything we do can influence others. So if we choose to the the right thing, a positive affect will be made around us. Everyone should value their lives as it is important and precious.
