  1. Peace keeping would continue to be in operation as long as the world’s peace is threaten by self seeking politicians and businesses. The operation has always been suspect especially looking the massacre that took place in the 90’s in Muslim areas in Bosnia were thousand s were reportedly killed. I suspect it’s not only logistics but also financial resources needed to fully show their presence in war torn country. The other factor is the dwedling nature of funding from member countries due to economic melt down. The UN through its peace keeping operations would act and respond rapidly, there is a fair chance that lives would be saved.

  2. People who are in conflict areas depend on UN Peacekeeping operations to be there for protection and safety and the issues presented in this memo sheds light to complex UN Peacekeeping issues that require a great deal of reorganization and reprioritization. The three cases are strong evidence of seriousness of the UN Peacekeeping problem. I think reports from special sources are often brushed aside and left without credibility. But these reports allow us to see problems that are often overlooked. I am also intrigued on what policy changes the organization can do to be more effective.
