¶ 2 Leave a comment on paragraph 2 1 The lieutenant was lying on his face in a sea of blood. The point protruding from his neck seemed to have grown even more prominent than before. Reiko walked heedlessly across the blood. Sitting beside the lieutenant’s corpse, she stared intently at the face, which lay on one cheek on the mat. The eyes were opened wide, as if the lieutenant’s attention had been attracted by something. She raised the head, folding it in her sleeve, wiped the blood from the lips, and bestowed a last kiss.

¶ 4 Leave a comment on paragraph 4 0 The imagery from the words “Sea of blood” really made me almost see the scene in front of my eyes. “Heedlessly” really showed how thoughtless she was as she made her way to her husband where they shared their last kiss. the ordes wide open really gives us a better idea of how she saw his face.
¶ 5 Leave a comment on paragraph 5 0 Sandy Cheng
Sandy, it is amazing how the last thing the Lieutenant, and Reiko did together was to make love to one another. Do you think there is a correlation or a possibly theme associated with love and death in which Mishima is trying to portray?
