Paragraph 16 Annotation – Daniel Kennedy

1 Leave a comment on paragraph 1 0 “If her husband did not returns her own decision was made: she too would die.”

2 Leave a comment on paragraph 2 1 This passage represents simultaneity because there are two events happening at the same time. In this case, Reiko wants to die when her husband does. Generally, when one person dies in a relationship, the other person can live on and carry on with their life after going through the grieving process. However, Reiko decides that she will participate in her husband’s uneventful death by causing herself to die, as well. By dying at the same time as her husband, Reiko does something at the same time, and as a result, represents simultaneity.
