Angle: “A Celebration of Natural Hair”

Summary

For many years black and brown women struggled to maintain their hair due to lack of resources and information on how to care for it. Additionally, natural styles were often perceived as "unprofessional" and not socially acceptable. Which led women to try and fit in, with the mainstream beauty standard despite the pain and damage that it would cause.

As the world is evolving, so are women with different textured hair. Now we are seeing many companies catering to all hair types, as it is finally being embraced everywhere. I want to photograph women with their natural hair and ask them questions to understand their relationship with their hair and build a beautiful story on diversity and celebration of natural hair.

Questions 1. What's your name and where are you from? 2. How do you feel about more black women wearing their natural hair? 3. Prior to becoming acceptable did you have any negative experience with wearing your hair natural? 4. How do you feel about your hair? 5. One word to describe your hair?
