Taking a Look at Gerrymandering Effects

Shown above is the disparity of elected officials between the Republican and Democratic House. Where in some cases is took as much as 3x the amount of voters to vote a Democrat into the house.

When looking at Gerrymandering used as a tool by the minorities we see an outcome of two states benefiting..

Whereas the Republicans using it as an oppressive tool win about 3x more seats, totaling seven seats in comparison the Democrats mere two.

Supplementing these graphs, the authors of this article help give visual aid to the effects of racial gerrymandering. Depicting the republicans as being advantageous of this tool, this data supports the theory that gerrymandering is used by republicans or conservatives to mute the liberal/democratic vote.
