Abstract for Assignment 1

Summary

I want to discuss my decision to change classes in my first year of high school. I was unhappy in my first-year class and didn’t care much about my grades. I would only do enough work to keep myself afloat but wouldn’t use all my potential. My class was fun, and most of my peers also didn’t seem to care about their academics. One day my friend from a different class told me I should switch to his class. Being unhappy in my current class, I decided that he was right. I then contacted the administration and requested to move to his class. That year, sophomore year, was much more enjoyable than the previous one. My new peers liked to have fun but also cared about their academics. This new environment, coupled with my realizing I needed to step up for college, made me decide to work harder in school. It took time, but eventually, my grades started increasing. This created a newfound work ethic that immensely helped me during my internships. Furthermore, with my improved grades, I could get into Baruch college.
