Boston School – Bus Drivers Return to Work Amid Uncertainty
Esther Yee’s article
Boston bus drivers are hesitant to go back to work because they prevented 18% of Boston students from going to school. While they were on strike for higher pay, better health insurance and declining the new GPS system students were not able to get to school and missed a day of learning. The Mayor of Boston was furious and through the radio said the issues the drivers were protesting about were “not real issues.” Parents were distressed from this protest because they did not know about it, and one parent even shared how her autistic son was distressed from having to take the city bus.
