Final Reflection of 5985 class

I would like to begin this reflection by saying that this class MGT5985 “Entrepreneurship in the Wild” was a very exciting and unforgettable experience. To be honest, technology was not my strong suit and for me everything was new. But I learned in this class, various technologies for Competitive Landscape, MVP website, Business model Canvas, editing video on Makerhub, Ads on Social Media, and presentation.

 I think one of the first challenges of this class was to create a personal website to post all the work and reflections that we have each week as homework. The reading part was very important in Perusall because it helped me to have another perspective on an entrepreneur, ideas, and prototypes. The totally new and difficult part was learning the launching my first MVP by creating my own store website on “WIX website”, after creating my idea we had to transport it to Facebook, one of the most popular social media to run our personal website to make the product look more real.

I think the final part of the class was even more interesting, because we had to present the product idea in a 2-minutes video, and we had to edit it and upload it to YouTube.

To conclude, the autonomous learning mode of this course was very different and incredible since that way helped us to develop as professionals and we had good challenges to learn and make various designs in different programs.

Interview Plan

First, I think that doing a thorough investigation into the idea that you have in the future would be a good strategy. The most important strategy would be how it works, manages and how your competition feeds itself to be so successful in the market. I think I would start with very relevant questions to be able to put them on the table and form my work plan for my business. I would focus by asking the expert about how they make reservations, schedules, notifications, and alerts of long waiting lines. I would also like to see how this online platform works, and some other important system to be more efficient in the App.

The questions that I am going to ask.

  1. What is the most difficult thing to build that application so that customers can have better accessibility in their app or website?
  2. As a company, how do you adapt to the change of innovation to have a better marketing and be the best?
  3. What was your strategy that makes you unique as a company?
  4. How does the company work with promotions, offers, discounts to get many customers and above all keep those loyal customers and how do they implement it in the App and website?

I think that after this little interview I will go out learning many strategies and ways to analyze and create a solid structure for my future idea which is “BaruchGymApp”. I also know that New York Sport club has an incredible APP and website that gives many accessibilities so that the client feels happier to make their reservations, receive notifications and alerts so that the client does not waste their time and can make any changes on time. Obviously, this process is going to take time since everything starts from the bottom and little by little a good company grows and with time it will be successful.

Asgmt1 Competitor Analysis

After doing a deep analysis on who my competitors were, I think it may be a bit difficult to create this business, but I see that I have many opportunities for this project to be a success. I feel more realistic after doing this Business Model canvas from my competitor in depth and when I see that one of my strong competitors is the platform that New York Sport Club Gym uses, it is very good for the sector, but I think it has its disadvantages and I think I can improve it so that my application of better benefit to students.

I cannot deny that my biggest competitor has a first-rate platform that offers notifications, promotions, discounts, making appointments and canceling them 24 hours a day. I would like to integrate all these functions and improve them so that the student does not have the need to leave the university for a gym and waste their valuable time and money. I think that one of the things that would give more value to my application would be that the students receive notifications of how the gym environment is in the morning, afternoon, or night. So, they can see the availability and decide to go or maybe later and do something important like homework in some class. They will also be able to make daily reservations, check accessible hours, receive notifications if there is a line to enter and reschedule the shift, capacity tracker.

I will continue this value proposition because I see that it can work for the best performance of students. The main reason is that students can be alert to the things they want to do but it is much better if you receive a message that something is not available, and you can make a quick and effective decision to take advantage of the day. This may not be a good idea because there are already many applications in some gymnasiums that you can make reservations and order your calendar but at Baruch College gym, we do not have that idea that would help students save money and time and focus on their studies.

Finishing this and looking to the future, I believe that due to this pandemic we will need this application so that students can reserve their place, day, and date and the gym can also carry out a capacity control for reasons of contagion security.

TikTok is the Chinese creative social media platform primarily driven by short-form video context. TikTok primarily makes money through advertising, thus making it an attention based business model.

It actually started life as three different apps. The first was an app called musical. Which launched in Shanghai in 2014 but had strong Us business link and a healthy audience in that key market. In 2016, Chinese tech giant Byte Dance launched a similar service in China called Douyin.

In my personal opinion, TikTok is one of the most successful platforms where you can earn a lot of money knowing how to use this app. The creation of this app was a revolution for people who are very shy and can express themselves in videos of seconds around the world. It is something so popular that it helps a lot to laugh, act, dance and above all be yourself when you make a video.
