After long and frustrating years Boeing finally delivers an answer to fellow competitor Airbus, whom released the A380 6 years ago. The giant commercial aircraft broke records, as the largest aircraft with an ability to carry 853 passengers. Success of The A380 overshadowed Boeings market for the last 6 years. It’s truly amazing how evolution of modern technology allows such things to exist. Boeing decided to make its mark in the current market by designing for Environmental Performance. Boeing is introducing new technologies to create better environmental performance for commercial jetliners. Key attribute most airliners desire when purchasing an aircraft is its effincey on gas, since gas prices are constantly soaring. Dreamliner delivers more then a handful of an airliners desire. The 787 it’s composed of 70% composite (blend of plastic) is said to reduce 20% of fuel consumption, unlike the A380 that is made from a decent portion of aluminum alloy.
By making the aircraft much lighter it requires less fuel consumption, which results in the reduction of carbon monoxide going into out atmosphere. Dreamliner also has One of the more innovative passenger comfort systems on the 787 is the computer-controlled turbulence-reduction system. Boeing claims the Smoother Ride Technology will provide a reduction in the number of people experiencing motion sickness. Sensors throughout the airplane detect subtle changes in air pressure indicative of turbulence. As Anderson Hamilton chief engineering director stated “All of this technology puts the 787 well ahead of the competition.” Myself being quite familiar with the aviation industry I’m amazed how innovative it’s become.

I believe making such a big aircraft has many advantages. Because It can carry so many passengers in one aircraft, also as you mention before, it will be reduce the carbon monoxide by making it light. That will be good to our environment. Therefore, I believe technology really improve our life a lots.
Modern air crafts are giving these companies their competitive advantage.
