Prior to our visit of the NYPL, it was discussed in class how librarians are nervous for archives to become digitalized. Initially, I thought it’d be great for librarians/guests to gain easy access. After Doug showed his process of recovering RENT documents via floppy disk, it made a clear point of how digitalization may rise problems in the future for archives. Doug was able to finally view the documents from the 90s, after much work of converting.
