The Sculptor

The idea for The Sculptor came to me during a psychology lecture. The fact that the personalities and attitudes of people begin developing before birth and throughout childhood made me think about how external influences like family and environment play a part in creating a culture and developing it over time. I wanted to write a fairytale of a culture rife with toxic traditions, like many existing today, that refuses to conform to a world that has changed around it.

My fairytale is inspired by where my family is originally from. When we visited, the journey would take hours but when we reached our home, it was really grand and one of the greatest places I have ever been. I just wanted to write a fairytale about that place which is actually named Dom.

Heavenly Underneath

I am usually the friend that listens to everyone’s dilemmas, and I typically hear more romance-related issues than anything. The stories I would hear about my friends’ idiotic boyfriends fueled me to write my tale about two young folk encountering love for the first time. I hope my tale can provide insight into what a possible red flag that anyone should avoid in their romantic partners.
