What is art?

In John Baldessari’s performance I am making art, he is either mocking modern art or contributing to it. The piece is from 1970 which is towards the end of the period of abstract expressionism. This video is in response to artist suck as Mark Rothko and Jackson Pollock. After these artists became popular, everyone would ask themselves, ‘What is considered art?’. John Baldessari is saying that everything is considered art. He is just moving around and recording himself and saying that it is the same as a painting and should be included in a museum.

5000 feet is the Best is separated into 3 different parts. All parts are based on the meetings with a Predator drone sensor operator. On camera he discusses the technicalities of his job and the recording is played over a birds eye view of the city of Las Vegas, where the interview is taking place. His face is shown but blurred probably to protect his identity. The operator also tells the interviewer other parts of his job but these stories are off camera and off the record. This is shown in the other two parts of the film. Omer Fast uses an actor who is telling a story to an unknown person in a dark room. He constantly stops and leaves the room because the story is hard to tell. The last part uses more actors to act out the story. It is a tragic tale which is why I thin Fast separated it into parts.
