Studio Exercise 1: Multiple Blocks

wymultipleblockslider

As I trying to figure out a way to work on the application and explore all the possibilities, the block reminded me of childhood. As a kid I played blocks, and spent all my time on the playground. I decided to build a slider. I was downloading all nine blocks and try to build them into one pieces. I find it a bit challenge to get it into the way I exactly want it to be. I had originally a more complicated 3D block slider, and it is not nearly making sense. The size, the perspective and position are way off they suppose to be. This version is more simple and easy to build and make sense. The block slider made with a half cylinder which I made on the SketchUp, a cylinder and a arch downloaded from classmates. The arch serves as a foundation, the long cylinder links the half cylinder and the arch. The curve area make it possible for the slide to sway. The challenge was to make the half cylinder fit and provide space for cylinder and connect parts together. Of course the position cylinder determines the space and it needs to intersect the half cylinder and attach on the middle of upper curve. A child can push it down, sit on it and then slide down.
