A Twist to the General Perception of Welfare Recipients

I know that we have all heard of what people think of people who receive welfare. The media plays a huge role in  what people come to understand about welfare. Well this article that I found provides evidence that there are many other ways to cheat the government for money. The link I included shares a personal testimony of a rich woman who tells her story of how she cheats the government. She doesn’t even seem apologetic about it. This is one of the things that she said in her article. “So if the ocean ate what I built, I could rebuild and rebuild again and again — there was no limit to the number of claims on the same property in the same location — up to a maximum of $250,000 per house per flood. And you taxpayers would pay for it.Thanks.” This is her life as a Welfare Queen. Enjoy !!

  1. This topic is probably the single best example of the most ridiculous welfare citizens in America get. uberfreakinexcellent article.

Wow, the article does reveal some surprising twists to the term “welfare queen”. Once again an example of how people take advantage of the system to better themselves, using tax payers money to live their pathetic luxurious lives, while people who truly deserve it suffer away.
    Roshni

wow. great article! The key line in the whole thing was towards the end:

“its never welfare when it goes to you”

This is so true because we discuss this in class every time we talk about Welfare. Financial Aid always comes up because we never even think of it as a form of welfare or tax payers $$ because we are the recipients of it. This article totally shows the other side of the coin and none of us would have ever even considered National Flood insurance welfare for the rich.

  4. khazrah says:

That was a good article about how the welfare money goes to the rich and poor just have to suffer although they are the real ones that deserveit

i love how the woman built her beach house just a few hundred feet from the sand. Her stupidity! It gets even more amusing/sad/patheic that the government acyually insured her for flood insurance!
Which she stated was dirt cheap!!
