Manning Returns to Indianapolis
In a game on football Sunday, Peyton Manning returned to his former team of 14 seasons, but in a different jersey. He was released by the Colts in the 2011 off-season and signed in the 2012 off-season after suffering a neck injury that required career threatening surgery. There were many questions on whether Manning would ever play again let alone get signed to another team. Manning smashed all critics and came back with his one his best performing seasons, winning comeback player of the year. He now is the head of a 6-1 Broncos squad that was 17-0 before losing to the Colts on Sunday. He was well received in his former stadium, with almost a minute long standing ovation given to him before the Colts organization played a short compilation of highlights from his Colts career. Players who come back to play against their former teams are usually not received as well as Manning was on Sunday, but that is a testament to his greatness and his accomplishments with the Colts. The Colts hope to have their new “Manning” in Andrew Luck and his showed his potential Sunday, handing the Broncos their first loss of the season.
