“He was the star you knew, on ESPN, in GQ, on Showtime, but there was also that other thing—a matter to be addressed and quickly moved past. ”

This quote sparked me, for a good reason. Kobe Bryant was an All-Time Basketball Star whom had a significant impact in the basketball world. His passing is tragic, with individuals all over the world mourning the loss of the legend, remembering all the good he did. However, as stated in the article, he did commit a rape crime against a woman, but that has been long forgotten. He is remembered as a basketball legend, and not a rapist, and that really should apply to individuals out there, regardless of fame. People can change over time, and not all criminals have evil intentions. We need to see the good side in all criminals, and not assume each criminal is definitely evil. After all, their positive side may outshine then dark negativity, just like for Kobe.

  1. I love this post because it shows that people make mistakes, but its all about how you respond to it. It shows that you can always fix an issue you come across which was one of the lessons Kobe showed.

  2. I agree that although Kobe has committed such an atrocity, he should not be labeled as a rapist because he is not evil at heart and has tried to do so much in the WNBA to try and make amends for what he did.

  3. While what your saying is true, and while I agree Kobe did some amazing work on and off the court, the testimony of his wrongdoings must be taken with the good to be fair to his victim and to other victims of abuse.

  4. I totally agree with you. Kobe’s legacy should not depend solely on what happened almost 20 years ago. Ever since then he proved to the world how outstanding of a human being he was. We should view the good that he has done to this world as him making amends for his wrongdoings in the past.
