Hi Jenny! This is an exceptionally designed course for two reasons. Number 1 is that you take an overarching issue within todays society, and consolidate it into a singular, well-though-out course. Bravo! Number 2 is that you structured your class around a book, which is something I have yet to experience this at Baruch…minus spending 10 minutes on the Fannie Davis text in FYS lol. I actually like books serve as centralized texts, as students do not have to traverse their way through a myriad of authors, and articles. From a purely organizational aspect, this is brilliant. Great work here!
Thank you for your comment, Will! I think that many courses don’t mention the current issues in our world today. I think that by learning more about an issue, people would know what to do to solve it.
This seems like such an important course to take and I wish there were more like it. The issue of climate change is huge, but not a lot of people are educated on it like they should be. I love the way that your structured your class as well. The extra credit is also interesting. I would definitely take your course đŸ™‚
Hi, Sharmily! Thank you for commenting! I wanted to create a course that gives more nontraditional assignments, like the extra credit in my course. I think these activities would help students find more meaning in course materials.
I definitely see this as an important course to take. We must educate students in a day and age where maintaining resources is essential to the survival of our planet. A lot of people often don’t do their research to the effect they have on the environment when they litter or use environmentally unfriendly objects. Definitely would take this.
Hi, Justin! Thanks for commenting! I also think that students should be educated about maintaining resources. There are so many forests destroyed and fossil fuels burned that it scares me. If the resources are to disappear one day, the planet and humans would experience adversities.
