  1. Our course design projects revolve around the same topic so I am glad to see your are interested in rap. I think that learning about the sound and imagery in different types of rap and depicting lyrics from big rappers can teach students many things. Rap is often under looked as a music genre so it would be great for students to understand the deeper message behind what many artists are saying. It is also great how you give the students the opportunity to choose their favorite rapper for the presentation.

    1. I also read your course design project and I like it as well. I like how your course approaches the genre of rap in a similar way and I’m glad that you’re seeing what this class can offer.

  2. I would love to take this course. I think this course will benefit students who are already interested in rap music as well as students who aren’t so familiar with it. Rap genre creates many stereotype that aren’t correct and this class can clear those up.

  3. This honestly sounds like an amazing course. I think it is important to see the implications that certain genres of music and especially rap, has on American culture. To say it has a large effect would be understatement. Looking forward to digging into some playlists.

  4. I’ve never been a huge fan of music classes, but only those that made me sing. I think looking into the history of rap and hip hop would be really interesting because we’d be able to learn of the evolution and effects it had on American culture

  5. I’d love to take this class and think it would be so enjoyable. Rap music holds so much more meaning, lyricality, and musical skill than stereotypes put it out to be and this course would show that. Also, there is so much rich history to learn about how rap came to be and how much it has changed.

  6. I believe it is safe to say that everyone has a love for music, therefore I don’t see a reason why someone wouldn’t want to take this course. Even if Rap and Hip Hop isn’t your thing, it is still very interesting to learn the history of popular genres and how they came about. Maybe this course can get you to dip your feet in the water and find something that you actually enjoy and are willing to hear more of.
