NEW YORK MINUTE

This  post is very important to me as it was me flying over nyc and I realized how much of my life was dedicated and lived in this city. It’s more than a city.

Jasmine Mizhquiri- New York Minute

This is a mural I pass by every morning on my way to the train. From time to time the artists/activists behind this mural address issues about the East Harlem community. Currently this mural is a homage to these social change agents.

Good Morning Sunshine

This picture was taken in the morning when I go for a jog in Astoria Park. This picture is so relaxing and it reminds you to enjoy the little things of life. It helps me and people appreciate nature more.

New York minute

This image represents New York to me because it allows us to see the essence of the city during winter. If your not from New York you don’t know that beautiful snow actually turns into a dirty slosh. This a real image of what New York snow looks like. Also we can see how non Chalant everyone is about the snow.

New York Minute – Edgar Castillo

This picture is of Madison Square Park early in the morning a few months ago. I feel like this has a special connection to how I view New York because sometimes no matter how large this city is, and now many people are around, there’s usually a sense of isolation.

In this photo, I was astonished by the sunrise while biking the Triboro Bridge. This photo was taken during the summer, early in the morning and its one of those photos that make me better appreciate the beauty in nature.

New York Minute-Daniella Ospina

This is the street I walk every morning and night as part of my daily commute.  I have enjoyed this snippet of my life because it is where I take a walk with my thoughts and gain insight on how I feel about myself. I know with every step forward I am so much closer to the arms of my home and the confines of my bed sheets.

This photo is of the walkway of the Williamsburg Bridge. I chose this particular place because it holds many memories for me. I’ve walked over it many times with different people but each time had its own significance to it.

Wecome!

Welcome to our course blog for English 2150: Writing New York!  We will using this blog as an extension of our classroom space.  You will often be asked to share writing here, respond to prompts, or post assignments.   However, don’t think that you need an invitation to make use of this space.  On the contrary, you should be checking in frequently to see what your classmates (and I) have posted, and you should feel free to post any material that you think would be of interest to our group.  I can’t wait to get to know all you this semester!

See you very soon!
