Week 7 Update

This week I worked on the internal website design, as well as fine-tuning the overall branding on the site. I added a pop of color with a teal color in the “Submit” bars. New pages are the Artist Profile and Forum page.

At the moment, I’m thinking that the amount of white space is bordering on too much. I want it to remain simple but still have a full feeling. It feels a tad empty with the creation of the internal sites. One possibility is working more with images; right now, the pages are text heavy but I think they can use some imagery throughout, so I’m thinking through how I can do that.

I’ve been developing a typography hierarchy, with Trade Gothic and Apercu as the two typefaces used. It feels consistent and it makes sense.

I really like how the Profile page worked out; its fullness, its consistency within the branding and the way that the various elements interact with each other. I think the Forum page needs work, aside from the design but also the functions within that resource. I’d like to add another page where you can post for service you’re in need of.

Next week I want to have the final web design done and the thumbnails for the print journal complete, showing what the content in the print journal will be.
