Empowerment is No Longer a Side Issue – Lissette Nolasco

“Women Empowerment” The term is argued to used as a side issue complaint of how out-of-touch women were the decision makers of today. Women Empowerment nowadays means a lot more, to have a say, to be incorporated to the law decision creators. More and more as each day passes do women grasp more self-identity with the term women empowerment. It has become a much more highlighted issue thanks to the active world speakers of today. Such examples of girls today making change can be seen with Malala Yousafzai, a girl from Pakistan who was shot for discussing her belief in women’s rights. She spoke volumes as she spoke to the United Nations about the rights women and girls deserve.  One of her points that is now circulating as a new point to focus in on, it’s that change has to stem from women getting an education, in the U.S and around the world! If women in Africa are more educated and read from a young age, then they’re going to be more likely to hold down a good job and have less children than if she wasn’t to be educated. Giving women the power for decision-making will benefit us for the greater, and one day women empowerment will be recognized just as the word empowerment, for it should be granted equally upon all of us.
