While e-cigarettes may be catching on as a trend to replace conventional cigarettes many are curious as to how this new style of smoking may affect health in the not so distant future. Many people around the world have turned to electronic cigarettes as a replacement to the more traditional cigarette. Sales have been picking up around the world, just in 2011 sales were at $2 billion we can safely assume that the numbers have risen since. According to Katherine Delvin, President of the London-based Electronic Cigarette Industry Association “E-cigarette consumption could surpass traditional cigarettes in the next decade.” Considering that global sales are on average $80 billion, E-cigs still have a ways to go to completely replace the conventional method. Many people can now begin to argue that E-cigs are also in a way healthier than traditional cigarettes due to the fact that e-cigs mostly have only nicotine product rather than a mix of nicotine and filler products, which lead towards less health problems than the traditional cigarette.
