While reading The Medium is the Massage there was one quote that really struck my attention. It was the quote by A.N. Whitehead. The quote states, ” The major advances in civilization are processes that all but wreck the societies in which they occur”. To me the quote is saying that all advancements have helped societies excel without any drawbacks. This is something I don’t really agree with. I think a lot of advancements have held back societies in different aspects. I know that without all of the advancements we’ve had over the years life may be a lot different and maybe even a lot more difficult. Life being more difficult may not be a bad thing. All of the different advancements society has had, has made it easier for us to become lazier. Is this benefiting society, or holding us back?
