I chose this image to reflect how hard it was for me to understand Marshall McLuhan’s quote. I remember that when I first heard it in class I did not understand it at all. I thought that I would understand it once I read his book “The Medium is the Massage“, however, it wasn’t like that. I had to read it at least two more time to get it. I remember I was frustrated and I imagined that if  someone was trying to explain the quote to me, he/she would have been mad as the meme.

Now that I understand

Now that I understand

My group and I will be presenting on Social Networks and Networking. We have met two times so far to discuss the presentation. During the first time, we discussed  our topic and  we divided the work so we could have our own part to present. During the second meeting, we showed each other what we have searched for our individual part about Social Networks and Networking. I think we have done a good job so far because we didn’t find any issues dividing the work or organizing it. We only need to rehearse our presentation to be ready. I have to admit that Anum, Kady and Sharmina came up with a lots of ideas for the presentation. They actually seem so excited about doing it. I am glad I have them as a group because we are all working together and sharing ideas in how to make it look better.  I just hope you guys enjoy our presentation on Wednesday 31.

I decided to create a wikipedia account. I added to small paragraphs to the plot summary of ” Lazarillo de Tormes”.  I thought that it would be helpful for new readers.

I edited in the article on October 4 at 22:52.

Today, October 5 I spent the whole morning checking the article to see if somebody did a change to my own work.  At 3:52 pm I saw that a user just deleted my work and left it the way it was before.  When I checked view history, I saw that he changed it because he thinks that what I wrote is my  personal point of view. Honestly, I got mad when I saw how my work was deleted, but this is wikipedia anyone can edit or delete in an article.

Honestly, this is something I would have never tried before if it was not for an assignment. I am glad that we were assigned this adventure because I really liked the experience even when I got mad that my work was deleted. I think that I will keep editing to the same article for now because I love the novel. Hopefully, I do it better next time and my work just got a few changes.

First, I thank our professor who brought the 3D printing demo to our classroom. It was exciting seeing how laying down many layers created a dice in a couple of minutes.

Since, we are living in a technological world, I think the 3D printing demo will be the next big thing of the future. Many people could do their job easily like engineers, constructors and designers . Also, people at their home could fabricate their own stuffs and kids their own toys, which is the part I like. Probably, as a mother I could save some money while my son creates his own toys. However, I wonder how economy will be affected by people creating their own stuffs and kid their own toys rather than buying them from other people or companies.

He recommended me to develop one idea as full as possible. So I focused on how electric technology has changed communication and how we become part of this new technological environment. Even though I tried hard to write  the kind of paper he expected, I am not sure if I did.

I guess people have to determine whether is worth it or not to live in this new technological world.
