Oh boy, here we go again. It is that weird feeling of ending a semester: one that was engaging and created opportunities for us to apply our own thinking and today I can safely conclude that the title I chose for my blog at the beginning of the semester holds true as I was actually able to apply the knowledge first hand from what I learnt throughout the semester. This has been a great experience. Thank you all for making this happen!

What is this?

World’s Most Uninteresting Man

Ever since I saw this “World’s most interesting man”‘s ads on television, I always had the idea of making something on my own to stupefy his idea since I think it is not cool for anyone to testify what they are and it should be left to the people around you to say something if there is anything in fact to be said about. So memes is a perfect gateway for doing so. Moreover Makey Makey seemed liked something shown in class that stood out compared to anything I witnessed before so I took the pleasure of promoting it through  this way.

Presentation progress!

Our team is very excited about the presentation. We have a very energetic team in Jorge, Harveen and Nokhaiz whose ideas are very lively and hopefully the audience will feel the same. Our team is very excited about the presentation. We have a very energetic team in Jorge, Harveen and Nokhaiz whose ideas are very lively and hopefully the audience will feel the same. We are trying to be very different from the traditional presentation perception. In doing so, our team came up with some wonderful ideas in executing the presentation. All I can say at this time is that we are rich on topics and research materials and that we need to focus more on the segregation of who is going to cover which sub topic. We already have our rehearsal scheduled and I feel confident that we are on the right track so far.

Over the years, I have had the opportunity to play around with couple of different apple products ranging from iPhone to iPad and hence I also invested a fair amount of time learning to jailbreak these devices since jailbreaking is not something illegal but at the same time it can be used to pursue ill intentions as well. I feel it is important to know about jailbreaking since iOS is a very locked platform and lacks the elements of customization and also it is locked to the carrier and since consumers are paying such premiums to buy the devices, they should have the ability to customize and unlock it and hence jailbreaking comes into place.

Step 1; Connect your device to iTunes and back up your device as a fail safe option! Please refer to the screenshot for details:

Step 2: Download the latest version of Redsn0w according to your operating system and also download the iOS firmware your device is running on. Google the links for Redsnow and the firmware. Please refer to the screenshot on how to check your firmware version:

Step 3: Make sure your device is connected to iTunes and then turn it off. Now reboot the iOS device in DFU mode by following this short video:

Step 4: Once you are in DFU mode, launch Redsnow.Click Browse and select the firmware you downloaded. Refer to the screenshot:

Step 5 Make sure  “Install Cydia” is checked off and anything that might interest you. (Cydia is the key for jailbreaking so make sure it is checked off). Refer to the screenshot:

Step 6 : Click next and wait for your iOS device to boot .

Step 7: All DONE! You iOS device is now jailbroken!

If you need any further instructions or have issues please feel free to contact me.

Disclaimer: This may void your warranty but if you restore it to your original firmware then there are no more issues to be concerned about!

It is very impressive to see how the world has come to such an era where 3D is the standard. Desktop 3D printing is quite a discovery. It might be useful for business sectors like an architectural firm or a design studio but whether 3D printing has any value for home use will only be answered as the present proceeds since there isn’t a dire need of it yet. However as people become more creative soon 3D printing will make a major impact in the market.

Reflection of my writing process

The assignment was not hard to compose but did challenge me to think using my intellect. I had to go back in time to think on what the author’s perspective was. Overall it was a good research and I had a couple of drafts before I came up with the final submission.

Seeing past through the present from different vantage points!

This is an image that appears on page 42 during the reading. What made this so interesting to read was that it has a rather ironical meaning to it. In reality when we look at the rear view mirror we are looking to see who is behind us. But in this case, we are still looking back but in a rather different manner and we are seeing the past. Both aspects urge us to look back but has rather distinct vantage points!
