A good process of writing requires a good and effective research. Writers first do researches when starting a piece of writing, making a plan what they want to write. Part of the plan is the topic and genre of the writing, the audience along with supporting ideas, second sources. Once having the research done, then the writer can start collecting these elements altogether and deliver on the paper. Well organized paper should contain introduction with thesis, paragraphs with topic sentences along with the second sources and conclusion.
In this semester I evolved my writing process, while focusing more on the research and by working on it step by step. First, knowing the genre of the academic paper and the audience, secondly getting to read different articles and creating annotated bibliographies. Being part of the research annotated bibliographies for me, are the most important part of the research. As we learnt, annotated bibliographies helps us to write the essay, “they write the essay themselves”.
I learnt that I can write anything no matter what the topic is about. The fear of having English as a second language would limit my thoughts when writing. I learnt that is “ok” to have a terrible first draft. Therefore I start sharing all my thoughts, ideas of my project. Peer-review helped me always with new ideas in all the projects and improve the final draft.
