This line was really interesting to me because it got me thinking about how I, myself, tend to question everything I see around me, wether it be on the internet, billboards, magazines etc. Is the beautiful model on the display of People Magazine really that beautiful, or was she photoshopped, altered, and manipulated to look superficially beautiful? Or Does the singer on stage really sing that beautiful or is her voice combined with autotune to make it sound magically magnificent? Is it real? or is it not? We do not know what’s real from what it is not anymore and that is scary, even though many of us do not realize it.
This is something our world that really upsets me. Everything seems to get altered to look better, sound better, feel better, than what it actually should be, what it should be naturally. Altering everything has now distorted the minds of people. People now have perceptions about things that are beyond reality because almost everything around us seems to be altered and advertised as real. When people try to fulfil what they perceive to be possible, they fail, because they are trying to achieve something that it is naturally impossible. People are being led into of pathway of false perceptions by image manipulations used for deceiving.
