Having a culture with peers is one of the most important things in a friendship. It’s something that connects us together. One culture that me and my friends connect through is handball. It’s a sport that we all love and bonded our friendship with. Handball is a culture that taught us lessons in life, like not being able to win everything and that life has its loses. Handball is just a sport but it became a everyday activity for us in high school and it was how I made most of my friends. It was all we talked about in and outside of school. The handball culture felt more like a brotherhood to us, a community where we always had a person to go to.

The Love of Music
When it comes to music I am the definitely the person to come to about it. I know I have better music choices compared to my peers, and this is a pact. Most of friends I know tend to go with the hype with what’s trending that’s honestly very wack because they just want to be down with everyone else without really knowing why they are attracted to that specific song or album. The thing that sets me apart from my friends is how I listen to the song, the beat needs to fit the artists flow, the tone and lyrics need to felt, and finally the message from the song. Every artist has a story to tell, so I try to set across different states and countries to find something new. I must say it’s been very successful, I was able to meet people who felt the same connection had to music I listened to. For example, Canadian artist SAFE, has beautiful sounds that people haven’t heard. I discovered his music about four years ago from Drake himself, one of the most well known artist of this generation. Since then i’ve watched him grow mentally in and out the studio and the way he demonstrates himself has been so amusing that I find myself listening to his songs on repeat. I recommend to whoever actually reads my post without getting bored to listen to his album. The name of it is called Stay, I truly hope you get to gain from what I did from listening to his music.

Blog 4- Favorite show
Something that I love is my favorite all-time Tv show The Blacklist. This show has always been my favorite and nothing can come close to it in my opinion. It always starts off with a great hook and leaves the ending on a cliff hanger. It keeps me interested throughout the whole show and even seasons. The way it keeps me interested cannot be found anywhere else. The show is basically about how the most wanted man in America turns himself in and starts working with them. There is so much more in a it and much complex. To understand the whole thing and what the main character is about, one must start watching it from the very first episode. There is always something added to each opposite and will always leave me wondering what will happen next. The show always have unexpected twists and primary one of the main reason why I watch it. It is easy to follow if you watch it from the first episode. The main character, Reddington, always have ways to get what he wants and shows how he is untouchable. No one has the power he has. Not the FBI, government, and even president. He has connections all over and always wins. Although he does some bad stuff, he does a lot of great things like taking down the bad guys. Bad guys in which the FBI didn’t even know about. He has access to a lot of resources and gets things done within a phone call. This show never lets me down. Always makes me wondering “what happens next?” or ” That makes sense now”. The twists in this show is beyond great. Anyone who watches it can agree with me. Can’t find another show that has its’ audience engaged as this. I highly recommend everyone to watch the show.

Spider-Man movie series from the early 2000’s by Jennifer Condor
When I was young , the first superhero I learned about was Spider-Man.My parents used to buy me a lot of children’s movies that were famous back in the early 2000 ‘s.The movies that became significant to me was the series of Spider-man movies with actor Tobey Maguire. In my opinion, with Spider-man, I was able to learn about what being a hero really meant compare to other superheroes. Spider-Man lived a double life as a hero and as Peter Parker, he was always trying his best to make sure his neighborhood was safe. Being a hero to me means helping others for their benefit and being an inspirational role model to society. The series of movies include, Spider-Man (2002), Spider-Man 2 (2004), and Spider-man 3 (2007). In each movie, Spider-Man goes through several challenges dealing with villains as well as dealing with his own identity as a hero. I remember watching these movies repeatedly and every time , I would observe the actions of Spider-Man and become so amused and think of him as a cool hero. That was the way he became my favorite super hero. I feel like many people from the generation I grew up with also know about the series of movies because of how popular it was back then. I was hoping the series would continue after the third movie but unfortunately it didn’t. After that, many other people came out to take the role of Spider-Man creating new versions of it. I think that even though the newer versions of Spider-Man are now out and popular, people should also take the history of Spider-Man into mind and watch what is now considered “old movies”.In reality, in the history of Spider-man movies, it’s popularity began with the first Spider-man movie that came out in 2002.So I believe that we should take a chance to watch the older versions of Spider-Man before watching the newer versions just to learn about its history and its development.

Jaeger leCoultre Duomètre
My favorite watch of all time is the Jaeger leCoultre Duomètre Unique Travel Time in rose gold. It is absolutely stunning, especially in person. The watch functions on 498 pieces which are masterfully put together, and can be seen from the back of the watch. (which is one of my favorite parts). The back is also attributed with cities and each with their corresponding 24 hour time zone. Probably one of the most distinct features on the watch is on the watch face, which is marked by the globe at the 6 o’clock position. It allows you to tell the time zones, as well as the suns current position on the globe. The watch face also allots for the user to tell time for two distinct time zones simultaneously. Perhaps after a flight from New York to Japan you wanted to call your partner, but was unsure about the time in New York. The watch would be able to tell you New York and Japans individual times at a glance.
As you may already know, this watch is for travelers. The attention to detail on the crown and watch face are thoughtfully refined and easily one of my favorite components. I first saw this watch online a few years ago, and found it so distinct and interesting. Ever since, it has become my favorite watch to date. This watch in the specific variant I want is $43,500 excluding taxes. Which I admit is pricey, but it would be completely worth it. I cant wait for the day that I will look down on my wrist to see this beautiful timepiece.

Blog #4: Back to the Future (movie)
Back to the future has to be on my top 10 list for favorite movies of all time. I’ve been a fan of the movie since I was 8-years-old and I haven’t stopped loving it since. Everything about the movie is amazing; from the sci-fi to the time period the movie takes place in is what makes it a wonderful cinematic experience. The movie takes place in San Francisco during the mid 1980s. The Main characters are Marty McFly, a 17-year-old senior in high school, and Emmett “Doc” Brown, a scientist and a close friend of Marty. The entire movie is a roller coaster. It starts with Doc Brown testing his latest invention, the time machine built out of his Delorean sports car. Just as the he was testing it out, he gets killed by a mafia gang. Soon enough, Marty takes the Delorean and travels back in time to 1955, the year he had previously told Doc he wanted to travel to since it was the year his parents met. In a nutshell, Marty goes back in time to save Doc’s life by trying to tell Doc that he was going to get shot in 1985, but along the way, he meets his parents and he ends up changing their timeline for the better. By this I mean, he manages to boosts up his fathers confidence and his mothers pride and dignity through a series of events (don’t want to spoil) that when he goes back to 1985, his families life is completely changed morally and financially(for the better). Besides the plot of the movie being an incredibly creative and amazing one, the idea of time travel and all of the possible encounters one can face is what makes it a thrill to watch. It also makes one wonder what they would do if they had a time machine; what would you change about your past or even your future?

Response post to Tourism by Stephanie
In Stephanie’s post, she talks about outside countries and their poverty, how tourists think they are helping them by visiting. But, turn out tourists are not helping their economy by visiting. After reading this article it made me think about third world countries. In my experience, American has always looked down on immigrants. Trump is a prime example, many immigrants have been either verbally abused or even physically abused by Americans once in their life. They often hear the words “go back to your country”, “learn English”, “oh no, he has a bomb”, and many more. Now let’s change up the scenario, if an American ever moved to a third world country, do you think they would be treated the same way? The answer is no, its actually the opposite. They are treated with respect, they are perceived as talented and smart, they are given high paying jobs. In my country Nepal there is actually a town made specifically for foreigners, and that town is one of the most advanced towns in the country. There’s always hot water running, no shortage of electricity, the houses are beautiful, the roads are plain and smooth. Knowing this really upsets me because I have seen how Nepali treat Americans in Nepal. And I have also seen how Americans treat Nepali in America.

Response Post – D.E.A. enforcing increase in Opioid production
I found Dea’s post on the D.E.A. and its failure to protect the American people from the opioid epidemic particularly interesting. When the president was asked about the opioid crisis in America he of course blamed Mexico, but we know that this isn’t the case. The opioid addiction has risen in America because, as Dea’s post suggested there had been a significant increase in the D.E.A.s production quotas for opioids. My question was why the Drug Enforcement Agency (specifically tasked with combating drug trafficking and distribution) didn’t do its job and prevent this from becoming a crisis in the first place? The D.E.A. claims in the video that “the D.E.A. does not capture sufficient data, to detect emerging drug trends or suspicious orders in a timely manner” as a possible explanation for their failure as an agency. However it seems to me that, possibly big pharma companies such as Cephalon, Insys, and Teva Pharmacetucals might have had a role to play in the D.E.As alledged inability to detect emerging drug trends. After all, they have admitted to bribing doctors to overprescribe the medication even when it was not needed. Perhaps these same drug companies might have placed incentive or lobbyed the D.E.A. to turm a blind eye to the opioid crisis so they would be able to turn a profit. Irregardless of how it came to be it is a significant problem in America which has took thousands of lives.

Follow-Up: Immigration
I am following up on Giselle’s blog post regarding immigration. This was the biggest topic of the year 2019 and now news are barely speaking about it. We know that over the summer, children were being held at the border with inhumane conditions. Living in cages, sleeping on concrete floors, and the worse part was that children were being separated from their parents. Media, congresspeople, Activists, and many more were letting the world know what was going on at the border. But noe the real question is, what did our president do? What is he doing to reunite these separated families?
Immigration laws need to be reformed, they need to be lenient toward people who simply want a better future for their children. The 2 biggest percentage of people who migrate to the United States are people who are refugees or people who are being oppressed by their own country. I learned this from one of our workshops of SEEK, Social Justice. The video showed to us made me realize this is a real issue. An issue that is being taken so lightly. People in politics, who actually have the power to change immigration laws are not winning because we have a president who still believes in building a wall that Mexico is gonna pay for. And the saddest thing is the children, small children are paying for his disgusting wants.
I have been encouraging many of my friends, classmates, family, and everyone I know to vote this coming elections. It is important we have a fair president who is not racist, and could help reform immigration laws.

Gun violence is a major issue in our world today. From what i have learned guns are really easy to acquire without background checks. Each year around 36 thousand Americans die from gun violence and this needs to stop. This year alone we have had many mass shootings and its getting worse and worse. These numbers keep rising because the government wont do anything about fixing the problem. Our gun control is so bad to the point people think any loud bang is a gun shot. People do not feel safe in their own neighborhood. The US has gun control, these laws are there to maintain the sale of guns so people can be safe but what its really doing is letting people buy more and more guns for hate reasons. The second amendment is not a right that lets you own unlimited amount of guns but some people have plenty. These gun are being used for hate more than it is for safety reasons. Other countries have more gun control than the US which is a reason our death rates are so high, the US needs to learn from these other countries and establish better laws for guns.
