Whats hidden?-Matthew Goetz

This picture was taken at track camp in Pennsylvania. This was one of the coldest days at track camp it was maybe 40 degrees and this was before the 1,000 meter repeats which was the hardest workout at camp. This picture brings back a lot of memories as I remember it being so cold and our coach made us go in the lake so we can ice our legs in the water. We were all annoyed but we had so much fun going in the water. You cant see how nice the camp was, there was a basketball court, beautiful trails, and so much more. I remember when I was chilling with the team and the girls from Wagner team in the gymnasium. I got to meet so much people from other teams and I had an overall great experience. A week after this photo i was in the best shape of my life and I had boroughs coming up and cause I worked so hard at camp I actually won the thousand meter dash and prd by 7 seconds. I passed the line and hear everyone screaming Tottenville and it was the best experience of my life. All my hard work payed off and I was going to cities. My coach was so happy and so was the team. When I got home i saw posts and websites saying Matthew Goetz with the upset in the 1,000 and it made me feel great that my name was getting out there. Also getting an individual gold medal is a great feeling. What you don’t see in this picture is the hard work and passion athletes put into sports and how they payoff.
