Memorial Memory

A park that was memorable to me was the Davidson- Arabia Mountain Nature Preserve in Lithonia Georgia. This was memorable to me because the scenic view here was amazing and I will never forget it. I visited this place 3 years ago on Earth Day with my siblings and cousin. We went hiking there. We spend around 3 hours just hiking enjoying the views and nature that we saw. Living in New York City means that I don’t get to really admire nature in that form. Yes we have parks here and gardens, but nothing will ever beat just going to mountains or the woods to go on a hike and just admire the wildlife there. Not to mention the sense of peace you get while being there, you don’t have to worry about the noisy city streets. You get to just relax and take a “break” from the craziness that is in here.

I feel like when I go to the forest/woods to go hiking which I have only done around 3 times in my whole life those are the places that will always stick with me. More than actual monuments or museums. That is not to say that they do not stick with me because they do. I feel like I connect more with going to the park/mountains. I feel like I can really connect with myself and nature while I’m there.

  1. This is amazing. I feel like we always tend to forget the magnificent Earth that is around us and being in the city just makes it easier for us to do so.

  2. I found your writing to be quite descriptive and encapsulating. I myself also love immersing in nature with hiking and exploring though this rarely happens.
