What Magic Did You Believe In as a Child?

As a child I believed in mermaids and that the world had witches meant to protect us from evil. I was obsessed with the show mako mermaids and thought that if I found a deserted island with water I would turn into a mermaid with superpowers. Old disney shows had a lot of mermaids and witches characters and I started to believe that we just haven’t unlocked that part within us. For instance, there was this movie about this young boy who found out he was a merman and that he had all these abilities. For someone that couldn’t swim I really wanted to be a mermaid because their tails look fascinating and I wanted to communicate with sea animals. Believing in witches came from my older cousins threatening me that they would put a curse over me. I would get so scared when they started chanting and holding each others hand repeating some form of spell. I was a young child that believed everything my cousins told me because they were always right.
