Here’s what you need to do this week (under 1 hour):
– With your group of 3, pick one chapter (most are really short, 3-4 pages) from Bad Ideas About Writing (below) and comment on this Google Doc. Please make sure no other group on the Google Doc has picked that chapter yet.
– Once you have agreed on your chapter, please also agree on a speaker for each group. During the week, all three of you will write on the Google Doc, and during our meeting on Friday, your designated speaker will summarise the chapter their group chose and what they thought about it.
– The speaker will also be responsible for asking one question to the class about the topic in their chapter. (Please don’t assume the class will have read your chapter; instead, ask an accessible question that anyone can relate to. For example, if your group chose the chapter about the connection between reading and writing, you can ask the class to describe that connection, or ask their opinion about whether reading and writing are interconnected.)
What we’ll do on Friday:
– We’ll discuss the Google Doc.
– I’ll introduce the upcoming assignments for the course.
– I’ll answer any questions.
