Hello, my name is David Ciborowski. I am a freshman at Baruch and live in Queens. I went to Maspeth High School before Baruch and started many new hobbies from it, including dunking, working out, and wrestling. These are my favorite hobbies since they all correspond to each other in some ways, since working out helps me improve in both dunking and wrestling. I went from not being athletic at all in the beginning of high school to motivating not only myself but my friends as well to push themselves to be the best they can be. Dunking was the first hobby that stood out to me in high school because I remember only being able to touch the backboard and I always wondered the feeling of dunking, so I set my mind to it for a couple years and achieved my goal. To this day I still continue to push myself to see how far I can go and what I can accomplish.

That’s cool about how you can channel some of your hobbies into doing physical things. A lot of our lives are spent in front of screens, so it is nice to do things that don’t involve screens or the same sorts of movements (e.g., reading, sitting) that work will have us do. I never could dunk as a tall-ish person. But also did not have much of an interest in it since I only played basketball occasionally with friends and mostly in middle school and early high school.
