My favorite workshop during freshman seminar was voices. I liked voices so much because I got to see the best monologues for all of the freshman seminar classes performed live on stage with professional actors. When I saw the actors presenting the monologues I really got a fell of what the student who actually wrote the monologue was feeling. I learned that I have in common a lot of the experiences all of the other freshman have as well in the first year of college. The actors presented a lot of the problems students were faces with coming into college and I found that I am not alone because many of those problems were very similar, if not exactly the same to the ones I have. Although I feel alone coming into such a bigger school compared to high school, going to voices made the whole school feel so much smaller because there were so many other kids having the same problems as I have. Voices was really comforting because all the freshmen got together to express themselves, and because we all have something in common, we are all currently in our first year of college, we really all felt a sense o relief when we found out we are not alone during this big change. Concluding freshman seminar with voices really got me to feel a sense of strength to move forward and continue my college career with success.
